An Atlanta assistant state's attorney says that concealed weapons licensees may carry their firearms anywhere except in churches, public buildings, establishments which serve alcohol or sporting events. These prohibitions are listed on the license.
An Augusta assistant state's attorney says the law means just what it says: No concealed weapons are allowed in any "public gathering." What's a concealed-weapons holder to believe?

Besides, what good is a concealed-weapons license if a licensee can't carry the firearm to those places where it would be most needed?

Concealed-weapons holders are the most likely to obey the law and would thereby place themselves at risk by not carrying their weapons in public gatherings.
