In addition to the task force or maybe instead of,give the good citizens the ability to defend themselves.CCW permits have shown to reduce crime nearly everywhere they are offered.I don't care how many government(state and local) "task forces" are instituted nothing beats armed self defense
Violent Crimes Task Force RevivedThe Cincinnati Police Department is reviving its Violent Crime Task Force. The task force was implemented to reduce violent crime in the Cincinnati area, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.Homicides and bank robberies skyrocketed in 2001, WLWT reported.Chief Tom Streicher said that beginning Sunday, the task force will take on more detailed responsibilities."We're actually going to take the task force and reduce the number of officers to 30 officers and five supervisors. They'll investigate violent crime," Streicher said. The task force was formed last July with about 75 officers.Part of the new plan is to also turn more felony gun crimes over to federal courts. The number of homicides hit a 14-year high in Cincinnati during a year in which the city experienced racially motivated riots and unprecedented street violence. There were 63 homicides, compared with 40 in 2000. That is the most since 1987, when there were 66, including 24 at the hands of serial killer Donald Harvey.
