Anti-choice Groups Fund Clintonian Gun 'Study'Groups that oppose Second Amendment rights are financing an anti-gun "study" from the Clinton administration. The National Rifle Association has raised red flags about the so-called study, "Improving Research Information and Data on Firearms," due in 2003.The stated goals of the National Research Council "study" show bias before "research" has even begun, for it seeks to "evaluate the various prevention, intervention and control strategies" (imagine the uproar over a group that sought to control First Amendment rights).According to the November issue of America's 1st Freedom, sponsors include Joyce Foundation, a contributor to Violence Policy Center, "which seeks to ban the private ownership of handguns," the taxpayer-funded Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and David & Lucille Packard Foundation, which has squandered millions on the so-called Million Mom March Foundation.CDC's "well-documented record of funding shoddy anti-gun research" is so notorious that Congress since 1997 has prohibited it from promoting attacks on the Second Amendment, according to America's 1st Freedom. The NRC "study" makes no mention of the protective benefits of guns and excludes all scholars who question attacks on gun rights.Even though America is rid of Bill Clinton, his damage continues. But have the Democrats forgotten that Al Gore lost the election because he lost states such as West Virginia and Tennessee thanks to his attack on Second Amendment rights? http://www.newsmax.com/showinsidecover.shtml?a=2001/10/22/205136
