What's it good for? I cant imagine hunting, it's smaller than a .22!What about the .177?Keeper, I'm sure you'll give me a treatise I wont soon forget.

Now you've done it. I can see him rippin' off the smoking jacket, kickin' over beehives, letting the saltwater cats burn on the grill...[This message has been edited by simonbs (edited 12-10-2001).]

I've heard it's used for those little itty bitty southern deer. History suggests the 218 may have been a "Lady's caliber"....come to think of it, I don't even have a cleaning rod that small.Sorry Lord BeeKeeper...it slipped out, I'll try not to let it happen again. One should not make fun of anothers firearms....unless it's Supermonkey's Jenning complete with bayonet.

Did someone jokingly say somthin` about bees? How very sweet and friendly of you to cozy up to ol .218 that way.(spoken in a gentlemanly southern accent, surprisingly like Val Kilmer in his role as Doc Holliday).218

Bullzeye,to tell the truth..I have not heard many positive things,...or negitive things about the bee,so all I can say is that it is just a cool little round. It`s not really smaller than a .22,I mean I have loaded it with bullits made for Hornet. It`s superior to the Hornet in accuracy and speed. Now don`t ask me "what`s so good about the" Hornet!.218

for the old wildcats made into a production caliber, don't forget the .22 Hi- Power. I had to hang an antolope it 2 pieces after it was hit in the back with a .22 Hi-Power. Haven't gotten anything w/the .218 Bee, no story to tell.

What are the Md 20's? Not real familer with them. About the .22 Hi-Power, I'm a caliber type, I'm not real big on the 99 Savages, but thats the only way to get a.22HP, also the 250-3000 is in a 99. There is a collecter I town here that thinks the 99 is all you will ever need, can't argue, he's gotten most everything on the lower 48 with one.

Clipper, the Savage M-20 is a very slender, sleek little boltgun that weighs only about 5lbs-14ozs ..used a m-99 light barrel in 250-3000 Savage , and also 300-Savage.The 22-HP would have been a great cal. for the little M-20 bolt gun.Yeah will, thats the Bee,224.218

.218: Would that be the cilp fed bolt action and they chambered 25-20 and 32-20 and some .22lr? I have the 25-20 in that one. Also do you know about the Md 219 break top .22 Hornet and the 30-30 that Savage made and marketed through Sears and Roebuck back in the 50's ?

The Bee or K-Bee sound like good cartridges for a single shot but only using a pointed boattail bullet. The flat pointed Bee bullet turns me off. It seems inappropriate for lever guns.

Beekeep, with all those long guns you need a short gun also. What if Ruger made a Vaquero (stainless) in 218 ? Now wouldn't that be something. ps. I still want a 32-20 vaquero.

its been decades since i last shot a 218 bee but i still remember the whine it made when it ricocheted off a huckleberry twig 8 ft. in front of the bbl. sounded like an old cowboy western. barto
