There have been press reports emanating from Pakistan that Bin Laden has had kidney failure and that he had been going to Peshawar for dialysis treatment. (Pakistan Observer). Also see worldtribune.com. It has also appeared in Asiaweek.com March 2000. A Russian report of September 2, 2001,( paper Osama bin laden and weapons of mass destruction by Adam Dolnik of PIR) mentioned that an operatoin against Bin laden took place in November 1998 by an assassin called Siddiq Ahmed. The operation failed but the target survived with an acute kidney failure.Here is some more...Here are reports from the past two years that suggest that Osama bin Laden is suffering from kidney failure, is undergoing dialysis treatments, and is seeking a kidney transplant:July 2, 2001 - The South Asia Analysis Group reports that "Bin Laden, who suffers from renal deficiency, has been periodically undergoing dialysis in a Peshawar (Pakistan) military hospital with the knowledge and approval of the Inter-Services Intelligence, (ISI) if not of Gen.
