There have been press reports emanating from Pakistan that Bin Laden has had kidney failure and that he had been going to Peshawar for dialysis treatment. (Pakistan Observer). Also see worldtribune.com. It has also appeared in Asiaweek.com March 2000. A Russian report of September 2, 2001,( paper Osama bin laden and weapons of mass destruction by Adam Dolnik of PIR) mentioned that an operatoin against Bin laden took place in November 1998 by an assassin called Siddiq Ahmed. The operation failed but the target survived with an acute kidney failure. Here is some more...Here are reports from the past two years that suggest that Osama bin Laden is suffering from kidney failure, is undergoing dialysis treatments, and is seeking a kidney transplant:July 2, 2001 - The South Asia Analysis Group reports that "Bin Laden, who suffers from renal deficiency, has been periodically undergoing dialysis in a Peshawar (Pakistan) military hospital with the knowledge and approval of the Inter-Services Intelligence, (ISI) if not of Gen. Pervez Musharraf himself." April 10, 2001 - This article from the "whistleblower" Australian magazine Crikey states that, "Due to its racist and inept ways, the US is convinced hepatitic old Usuma bin Laden personally directs ALL international terrorism from his cave near Kandahar, despite the fact he is on dialysis and the Taliban have taken all his satellite communications equipment away."July 31, 2000 - "Bin Laden fears for life as Taliban withdraw welcome" - This article from the Sydney Morning Herald mentions that he is urgently seeking a kidney transplant.March 16, 2000 - Bin Laden was reported to be dying of kidney failure. If we can keep him out of dialysis for a couple weeks he will die of potassium poisoning. It is a very nasty way to die. Here are some of the complications...Chronic kidney failure can affect almost every part of your body. Potential complications may include:Fluid retention. This may lead to swollen tissues, congestive heart failure or fluid in your lungs (pulmonary edema).A sudden rise in potassium levels. This could impair your heart's function and may be life-threatening. I haven't heard that, but I did see new footage of him where he was using a cane and he looked quite feeble. It's amazing how no one claims to know where he is, yet there is footage of him all over the news.

kidney failure will make one kind of drunk and dizzy which would require a cane also dialysis itself makes one the same way.Phosphorus from some foods and dark colas will leach the calcium from the bones making them weak which also could require the use of a cane.If his doctor is still prescribing certain water pills like demadex, these too could require him to have some type of device to stabilize his walking. my kidney doctor did this to me and i was three days away from picking up a wheel chair before my family doctor got wind of it and stopped the diuritics and jumped knee deep in the kidney doctors doo-doo.[This message has been edited by alledan (edited 10-05-2001).]

It would be nice if he would die of "natural causes", he would not go to paradise "yeah right" but more importantly he would not become a martyr to Islam. Maybe we could find a way to help it along.

I heard the same thing about the kidney problems. I wonder if somthing got mixed up because it was about the time North Korean leader Kim El Son was having kidney problems.

I saw news footage of Bin Laden this evening on Fox News, supposedly the film was from two weeks ago, and it was at some terrorist graduation ceremony, I tell you he looked pretty spry and in good health, for a renal failure patient.

in my opinion if he was behind the latest attack or any of the others around the world that renal kidney failure would be too easy for him to die no matter how painfull it is. I say stick him on the top of a 110 story building and send a patriot missle right up his *

Kidney failure can also produce an "altered mental status". By that criteria, the entire Taliban might be sick. But seriously, I hadn't heard that he was sick.
