Cleaning a stained rubber boot?

The boot under the steering wheel will NOT clean up! I've hit it with Simple Green, Clorox wipes, Gunk Purple cleaner, ArmorAll and Meguires interior detailer and it still comes out looking like this? Is there any way to get it black again without getting pissed and hitting it with paint?

Try rubbing some lithium grease on it.
Just a little bit.

At this point, I don't think its dirty. I think it's dry.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I haven't actually tried it, but I was always told that brake fluid would restore rubber, to a degree. If you think about it, it's in contact with rubber that needs to not deteriorate.

Don't have any lithium with me and I don't want to buy any since I have 1/2 cans of it in my shop but instead I tried some WD40 and it seems to be working.

Downtime means all those little things that bug me while driving gets taken care of [8D]

Brake fluid it does wonders on rubber.
