I spoke with a gundealer today and was told that winchester, remington, and one other company I don't remember were only making ammo for the military and have stopped commercial production. They said if I need any ammo I had better stock up because it may start drying up. Can anyone confirm this or were they trying to make a sale?
I spent all my money on guns, women, and beer. The rest I just wasted.wiredog70@hotmail.com

A couple people have posted here, I think a dealer, and someone ordering .223 for law enforcement practice, who claim to have heard this from manufacturers.Whether or not it's true, it's true that ammunition supplies were really short in the late 90's, so a stock up period by the Govt. would seem believable.

Our local Bi-Mart put out an ad this week advertising all rifle, pistol and shotgun ammo on sale at rock bottom prices. I guess those planes of ours aren't firing many 06 or 38 rounds at the turbine heads!
