I was just woken by a phone call. Late last night after leaving a club where her friend was having a bachelorette party, my sister in law was struck by a drunk driver. All I've been told is she has a head injury so bad they are draining the fluid off her brain. The driver left the scene but was turned in by a family member. Thats all the details I have. Please from what I'm told she needs all the help she can get. Thanks in advance.

I believe with all my heart that God can do ANYTHING. All he tells us to do is to ASK and BELIEVE and ye shall HAVE whatever you ask for. This is truly the time of the testing of our faith. We say we believe there is a God, we say we believe that He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, we say we believe that God raised Him on the third day and that He sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven, if we truly believe all of this, then we can truly believe that God can and will heal her in His time. In Ecclesiastes 3:1 the Word of God says: (1) To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:, I believe that God is with her and watching over her, we don't always understand why things such as this happen in our lives, but when we have Jesus Christ living in our hearts we can know with assurance that He is with us and the He gives us the peace that passes all understanding through whatever situations we are going through currently in our lives. Listed below are just a few Bible scriptures you and your family can quote to God, after all, He tells us to remind Him of His Word.
    (1) I don't have a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind,
    (2) I don't give the devil a foothold in my life. I resist the devil, and he has to flee from me,
    (3) The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost,
    (4) I cast all my care on the Lord for He cares for me,
    (5) I am a doer of the word and not just a hearer, I meditate on the Word all the day long,
    (6) I catch the devil in all of his deceitful lies. I cast them down and choose rather to believe the word of God,
    (7) I lay hands on the sick, and they recover,
    (8) I am a believer, not a doubter, and finally,
    (9) I cry to God most high who performs on my behalf and rewards me.
I will pray for her and ask God to heal her and do a work in her, she will have a great TESTIMONY when she comes through this situation, and she will be able to encourage and help someone else going through a similar situation such as this or maybe even worse than this.
Remember: I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS WHO STRENGTHENS ME!!!!!!!!!!
    God Bless You All,

    .................UPDATE..................

Well this has been one of the longest days of my life. It started out with a 5:50 am phone call that sent me into shock. After spending 10 hours working my parents restaraunt,I finally got to go see her myself. At 2 am after leaving her co-workers party. My sister in law was struck by a drunk driver leaving the same club. Her condition is as follows.
    Depression fracture to left temperal(skull/temple)
    Laceration of her liver
    Bruised lung

She has a catheter in her head to drain the cereberal swelling
She will be sedated by iv drip for the next three days.
Tomorrow will bring a CT scan

The good news is she has moved her arms and legs constantly since her arrival at the hospital. Unfortunatly she's not responding to voice. In spite of the sedation she has sat up 3 times and ripped out her trach tube.(she's now restrained)
She can breathe on her own but is intibated for safety.

She's in rough shape but she's a fighter.
Also while I was in the room with her & my brother, he carressed her foot and to me she seemed to respond. To the point that the bells and whistles went off for a moment. That seemed to help my brother out alot. I've seen a side of my brother today I didn't know existed. My baby bro is alot stronger than I would have ever given him credit for. I'll tell you this, if Bev was laying there, I don't think I could be half as composed.

Thank you all for your prayers.

God was on it from the moment it happened. I got you message Monday
morning but I will pray for her physically and spiritually. The Roman centurian asked that Jesus merely speak and his daughter would be healed and she was.

Please send prayers to the Burke Family......

    Woodsrunner,

When things like this occur, they have a way of stirring us up to seek, help from above, and it reminds us of the brevity of life, and the fragile nature of the physical body.

An yet knowing this, we long for our new resrurrected bodies.

    So, then the God of heaven and earth is, the same God who not only, forgives Sin, and heals all diseases, for HE is also able and willing to mend broken bodies;

if He sent (Christ) who died for us while we were yet sinners, how much more will he give all who willingly seek his face and put their trust in Him in their hour of need.

We are convinced that HE, The Judge of ALL the earth, will do what is right; for HE is not the GOD of the dead, but the GOD of the LIVING.

We don't know your sis-n-laws name, but I have prayed for Her.

    Richard
