According to this news article, Wisconsin Division of Health state epidimiologist Jeff Davis reports 4-5 Creutzfeldt-Jakob cases are reported yearly in Wisconsin.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans is an incurable brain destroying illness are caused by mutant protiens called prions that make spongelike holes in the brain, and takes upward of 15 years to produce symptoms which are then diagnosed.

I recall several previous posts among some deer hunters, talking about drinking blood and or eating the livers raw from bagged animals, I would be very careful to not do that, if your still hunting these animals, problem is how do you know for sure if the animal isn't yet wasted enough to visibly give away the infection.

Please understand that CWD is not limited to Wisconsin, but has been in the news, since last year, and the western, southwestern US, extending into the Northwest, and Canada is suspect.

This article might make a good argument for becoming a vegetarian, pass the beans, please..

It is also been known to be in the brains of squirrels. Some of the elderly folks in the southern states like TN have been diagnosed with CWD and it can be traced from the habit of eating squirrel brains. CWD is not caused by the meat of the animals infected, but by eating body fluids that have been in contact with the spinal fluids.

I wonder if these good ole boys, didn't excercise some of these blood drinking and raw liver eating rights, as it sounds like their family's weren't invoolved in these feasts?

I remember reading an article in a Medical Journal, which explained that these diseases are actually caused by organizams which actually enter the body by way of eating fluids infected with the disease and the organizams burrow thru the stomach lining, enter the humans blood vessels and then travel the hosts system, finally lodging in the brain and soft tissue areas of the body, primarily the areas that are cartilege by nature, where by they sit dormant living off body protiens, which probably explains the mutations.

Either way, it doesn't sound good.
