When ---PIGS--- fly.

Talk about pigs, these things are going to eat me out of house and home. We have to fill up all the feeders 2-3 times a day, this time of year. At the beginning of summer a feeder will last 4-5 days maybe more. This is at dusk. In the first pic there were 4 eating and 3 trying to get in, (just got 5 in the pic). The second pic was taken within 5 minutes and the camera decided it needed to flash, and they did not even fly away. They don't seem to mind if I get this close. I have had them sitting on my finger to eat. I learned long ago to keep the light in the room turned off so they do not come into the house.

If I knew then, what I know now.

This reminds me of the time I was Golfing in Northeast, MD.
Nature was calling and I was answering, when a Humming bird flew within 6" with that long sharp bill and hovered there. That was a scary moment.

Pickenup, them ain't pigs, them is chickens. Now I am beginning to figger out that story you told about shooting a BIG bore last fall...

Nice of you to feed those little guys. We are seeing fewer hear this year with the drought, but it is about time for the rufous to arrive and that always livens things up.

rugster; The white is because of the flash, those are just the plain green ones.He Dog:One of those just arrived about 3 days ago. When they chase any of the others away from the feeder, you can actually hear a THUD when they collide. I have found a couple that were really knocked silly from the collision. Those golden ones are sure mean.
