Classic095 UPDATE.. IS HOME ....

I have just got back from the hospital, where Classic had just had the echocardiogram....The stress test was cancelled for now...
What I am finally finding out is what others have gone thru at this time and why tempers get so short... Its the waiting... Having worked in hospitals all my life, I have seen where the pts family will almost be screaming at the nurses for results...and now I can really, perhaps for the first time, understand why...the waiting kills ya...
Sure we comforted the family but until you go thru it, you sure the he** dont have a clue about the waiting..

He phoned me around 8 this morning to bring him, as he puts it, a decent cup of coffee....and was joking around a bit... When I went to see him, I was very pleased.. he looks a lot better today... they have not given him any BP meds today as his BP is a tad low right now... they have him on blood thinners,, but again that is usual treatment... and now its the waiting for the results.. the cardiologist has to read the echo, and then report to us.. so that could be anytime from now till late tonight...
Yes I am ready to scream... I want the results NOWWWWWW
I printed out the well wishes from all you wonderful people.. he laughed at some of the comments and then was explaining to his nurses who everyone was... Thank you so very much, you have really brightened his day I know he is looking forward to getting out of there and back to posting...
I will keep you updated on the results of the echo, and what transpires from there, whether its surgery or just meds...
Hairy.. It was wonderful meeting you yesterday, he really enjoyed the visit, and yes.. I took a couple of the mags... Thanks Hairy..

Well its about time you let us know whats going on! Sheesh, We hate waiting too you know. I hope everything is going well and he wont be in there long. Hospital food is a terrific motivator for not staying for long periods of time. God bless you both.

I know what you are dealing with having to wait. On August 16th my best friend called to say that he was heading to the hospital for a new liver. I got to the hospital about noon it was around 7:00 PM before they got the old one out. Then it was after 11:00 PM when he got out of the OR. I was not thinking very well most of the day. His wife was in even worse shape than me. I had a hard time concentrating on anything. I am a Firefighter/EMT and can go in to a burning building, cut someone from a car or do CPR on a person without any problem. But, when I was trying to pack things to take over with me I was going around in circles. I ended up telling myself that if I forgot anything I would buy it later. You must remind yourself to eat, drink water and sleep. If you let yourself get run down you wont do Classic any good. I'm glad to hear that he is doing better.

The 'not knowing' and waiting is the terrible part. Glad to hear that he is feeling better (nothing worse that hospital coffee). Our prayers continue.

The unknown is a fearsome thing, I continue to pray for you both. The absence of enzymes is a most encouraging factor, they are an 'almost' infallable indicator of a heart attack. I am more and more confident that Classic will be just fine.

I have a feeling he'll be home real soon, so I doubt this suggestion will help, but let us know if he needs certain reading materials in that boring bed -- I guarantee, among us we've got anything he could possibly want and I'd be happy to send along anything you'd require. Got lots of stuff, and I seldom read things twice anyway....

    Blackroses,

I'll continue to pray for a complete and speedy recovery. Glad to hear some good news. Tell him he needs to get well soon, or we'll borrow the Harley and bring back a Honda. That ought to get him off of high center.

I went up to the hospital tonight and the cardiologist came in.. finally... and the results of the echo are... Negative... in other words, it showed a strong beating heart... thank god...
So they scheduled him for an angiogram Friday morning...
If there is a cancellation tomorrow they will do it then instead of Friday... Of course he was full of questions to ask me on how its done... I told him all about it, all the details...then after I explain it, the nurse comes in and tells him he will be getting a video showing the procedure... I know it will help put to rest any questions he has about the angiogram...
So far that is the update....He is not having any pain, and is anxious to come home... I told him .. NO WAY.. not till we find out what is going on... He also told me to post his thanks for all the prayers and good wishes and the phone calls.. They are appreciated more than you know...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and Classics for all the continued prayers... phone calls and good wishes...

We still have the angio to get thru..that will show any blockages in the arteries around the heart... praying that it will be clear.. the echo was for the heart... not the arteries...

Very good. Hope they can narrow it down so you can go home knowing the cause. I've got a hiatal hernia that causes a little chest pain once in a while, so I know it could be gastric or something else. Hey, maybe he's got "acid reflux!"

    offeror...
I am praying that is what the cause is... I know all too well the pain of "gas" or hiatal hernia..and yes it could be from that...god I hope so...

The pain of a hiatal hernia, and acid reflux can be the same as a heart attack... but I would rather feel like the fool, and I know Classic would as well, and be told it was "gas" than face the possiblity of bypass or angioplasty...
Just hangin in there waiting now..... that is all we can do...and the waiting is killing me...well that and a post that someone put in that gave me a friggin M.I ...*LOL

Now you know when the angiogram comes back fine, he was waiting for you to catch up the honey do list.

doctor: "classic, it appears everything is normal, we will be releasing you today".

classic: "well,...I feel much better, thanks doc, I'll be seein ya.
so,....what did you want to do today honey? what's that? you finished everything, wasn't that sweet of you".

Still remaining positive for you two.
