Which Are You?

Seems like the people here on Gunbroker break down into two camps.

Camp 1 seems to think that 90% of what is in the newspaper and on the news is lies, that there are numerous conspiracies, that there are powerful forces at work behind the scenes that can not be fully known or understood, and that truth (or something very close to it) can rarely be known.

Camp 2 seems to think that 90% of what is in the newspaper and on the news is truth (or something very close to it), that most people usually to do things for the reasons they state, and that truth (or something very close to it) usually does come out, if perhaps after a delay.

I see myself in Camp 2. Which camp are you in?

As you probably know, I have been in and out of this forum for a while now, and noticed several types of posters. Which type are you?

Do you post just to be posting ?

Do you post your true feelings?

Do you post just to stir things?

Do you post to help someone?

Do you post just to appear, and add nothing to the discussion?
(Like, here I am, look at me, Got nothing to say to contribute to the post, but here I am anyway"

Do you post to correct people and to show everyone in the forum just how smart you are?

Do you post just to gripe?

Do you post to air your dirty laundry in public?

Do you post just to add to your ego?

Do you post what you think the other people would like to hear just to stay on the goodie two shoes side of everyone?

Do you post with several names (alter Ego) ?

And yes I am a little of all them, look into yourself for the answer, not at anyone else.

I may not always be right, but I am never wrong. Magnum Force

    United States of Shame

What is the "most screwed up thing" about Oklahoma?

We now know thanks to the University of Alabama.

They have complied a list and each of the 50 states are at the bottom of the list in some cringe-worthy or unsavory category.

The university's rankings list the Sooner State as the one with the highest rate of female incarceration and we tied with Alabama for the most strokes.

Imprisoning the most women is not something to be proud of, however, other states on the list have offenses many would consider far more shameful.

For example, Mississippi; according to the study, they rank poorly in the most number of categories including highest rate of child poverty, infant mortality, lowest median household income, highest teen birth rate and highest overall rate of STDs

Louisiana scored the highest rate of gonorrhea, Nevada takes top honors for the highest rate of violent crime and Washington's claim to fame is the highest bestiality rate.

    Rationale and statistics:

Most stats taken from America's Health Rankings and the U.S. Census unless otherwise noted. (Note - data varries and is not based on 2013 numbers)

Well, I'm new here but this where I'm gonna do my posting. I tried another site, it ain't even close. One guy pretty much takes care of that one. So he can stay there and talk to himself, he be smarter than everyone else anyway. I mostly like to ask for opinions, add a little here and there and watch the fun. I like it because you can get several opinions fast, and If I didn't want different views than mine I'd just talk to myself. I think there is alot of knowledge and fun to be had here. [:D]

I look at this forum as group around a campfire. Sometimes we say things we may not believe completely to open up a discussion and watch it go from there. Sometimes we correct others when we know they are talking out of their lower colons. Sometimes we just want others' opinions on something. Sometimes we want others to know that something good or bad has happened in our lives. And finally going back to discussions(and dano) we start stirrin real hard when we know something in particular bothers someone else. Beach

Of course I post my true feelings. My false ones are soaking in a glass of water.

I don't call it stirring the pot so much as engaging a topic for lively debate. A passionate yet civil exchange of views is good for the soul. Besides, a good debate never killed anyone... except maybe Alexander Hamilton.

I do try to help others with my posts. Unfortunately, not too many folks seem to need advice on comic books, video games or Star Trek.

I don't post just to appear. That would be like showing up to a party you weren't invited to just to use the bathroom... and once was enough for me, thank you very much.

I don't post to show people how smart I am. I post to show off how fast I can type.

I've been known to gripe, but never without good reason... unless I'm in a lousy mood that day.

I try not to air my dirty laundry in public lest other folks get an idea of how truly slovenly I am.

I don't post to boost my ego. And anyone who says otherwise is just jealous of how smart I am.

I never post just to pander. It's shallow and demeaning. I do, however, send presents and cards if I think you have something I want.

No alter ego. I can barely keep track of this one.

Do you remember the movie Harlem Nights? In that movie one scene was Arsenio and two thugs trying to kill Eddie Murphy while he was in a store front. Anyhow Arsenio and one other dude was blasting away with machine guns, then the third dude took a shot with a small pistol. I'm in the same class as the guy with the pistol, I just make noise because I can't compete with the others[:D]

Do you post just to be posting ? Sometimes

Do you post your true feelings? Almost always, sometimes I bite my tongue if what I might say is very vulgar or downright mean, sometimes I slip and post it anyway[:D]

Do you post just to stir things? From time to time

Do you post to help someone? When I have information or an opinion that may be of some use to somebody and it already hasn't been posted by somebody else.

Do you post just to appear, and add nothing to the discussion?
(Like, here I am, look at me, Got nothing to say to contribute to the post, but here I am anyway"? Depends on the topic of discussion on a peticular thread, so, yea sometimes.

Do you post to correct people and to show everyone in the forum just how smart you are? I never claimed I had intelligence

Do you post just to gripe? Sometimes, yea

Do you post to air your dirty laundry in public? Have been known to do so

Do you post just to add to your ego? Um....what means this word..."ego"?

Do you post what you think the other people would like to hear just to stay on the goodie two shoes side of everyone? Me? Nah.

Do you post with several names (alter Ego) ? no

I post because there are a lot of folks here that I wished I lived next door to as real friends and could just shoot the bull and help do stuff with.

I read most posts. Not most of Josies because in my morning routine, I have usually read all of the news that Josie posts on other sites.

I answer some posts because they interest me.

I post sometimes to try to help someone.

    I post to give kudos.

    I post to give prayers.

    I post to give thanks.

Sometimes I post stuff about me, my recent experience or my friends.

I post stuff to share with my friends.

I post to ask questions. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here.

I post to answer questions like this one.

Most of the people here have me addicted to this forum. Its not the forum, its the people and their thoughts. They cover so many different subjects with experience and its such a refreshing breeze.

Sometimes I post to make some of you laugh. Sometimes we need that.
    I know I do.

Also, this is a place where I can go to talk with folks that have the same interests that I have. In today's society, that is not to easy.

I was introduced to this forum last year by a member, got addicted, since then met another member and got a new member signed in.

Hope to meet some more members as time goes on.

Many folks here make this forum like a family. I feel a need to meet and shake the hands of more and more of them. Already planning on going to Pabooger's get together with another member after we get some logistics put together.

Pa, I'll bring some butt kickin ribs. Tell me how many pounds.
