Night Sights vs Tactical Light

Hi folks,
First post on this forum. I'm in the process of getting a 3rd Gen Glock 21 and I deffinately want to purchase a tactical light for it, I'm looking at getting the Streamlight TLR-1. I've never used night sites and was wondering if they would be recommended with the use of a tactical light? I'm just not sure if the light will maybe "blind out" the night sights, or if night sights really aren't necessary while using a tactical light.
Any advice is much appreciated,

Night sites will help you line up your sites in the dark/low light. If you plan on shooting in the dark you need some way to ID your target and the only way I know to do the is with a light or NVD of some kind.
I have the Meprolights on my G35 with the Green front and Red rear which I really like. Night site are very nice but some way to ID what you plan on shooting at night is a MUST (ie light of some kind). I have a Streamlight M6 on my G35 and G34. I also keep lights mounted on my main goto rifles/shotguns.

Get em both. The nights sights are good anytime, and still appear as white dots during the day. The light is good too, and some come with a laser like mine. But the light is just extra to carry if you cannot fit it in a holster. You can get an internal laser from laser max too if you like. Got one of those too for my rail-less gun.
Once in a while, you're someplace dark, and you might need some light without having to draw a gun.
I shot a night 3-gun match a few weeks ago, the top finishers all had weapon mounted lights and the top pistol shooter was using a TLR-2, the lazer was much faster than sights. I was using a hand held light and night sights, and to tell you the truth I never did see my sights glowing, maybe they reached their half life (10+ years old) or maybe I just need more training using them. Eather way the light lzer combo is much faster to use than night sights.
Nawwww. Can't be! Isnt' there a thread here somewhere stating lasers are 'toys' or 'gimmicks' ???

Toys.....NOT gummicks.....get it right....sheesh.
Your memory isn't very good for being a cop. [}:)][;)][:D][:D]
I have been shooting "low light" and "flashlight" matches for a number of years. (FOR ME) On the flashlight stage, the light DOES overpower the night sights. On the low light stage (no flashlight) you definitely NEED the night sights to line up your shots. It depends on what kind of shooting you are going to be doing.

As for using the "TOY" it is SO MUCH faster, it is not even funny. We had our match last Friday night. The combined times for both the flashlight stage, and the low light stage, ranged from 82 seconds up to 150 seconds. (with no penalties added, with penalties = 3-4-500 seconds [:0])
103 seconds took first place in "A" class (8 rounds and under)
86 seconds took first place in "B" class (over 8 rounds)
82 seconds took first place in "C" class. (cheaters using lasers, attached flashlights, high capacity mags, etc.)
The requirement is, 2 rounds on the target in the C zone or better. The difference between 82 and 86 seconds doesn't seem like a lot, until you take into consideration the "C" class shooter (the one using a laser) put (at least) 4 rounds in each target, not just 2. And 75% of the targets had at least one head shot. NO ONE else had made any head shots all night.
Playing with the "TOY" is SO MUCH FUN. [:D][:D][:D]
