i was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of the quality of the lazz/sav rifle (lazzeroni built on the savage platform) i think it's called the L2000(??), i do know that it's chambered in the .308 Patriot, of which i want VERY BAD. my problem is on my budget there is no way in hell i can afford an actual lazzeroni as they run about $4,500+ and my entire life i have been raised to scorn anything with a savage name. also ford pickups

GUN TEST magazine (much more credible than G&A) suggested that an out-of-the-box SAVAGE 116 is much more accurate and less expensive than it's competition. BLAH!

Ya I thought you probbley knew that stuff with a little reserch. My only experence with savage was not good, a screw came loose and renderd my friends gun unoperatal(SP) after he wounded a deer, I had to walk across the canyon to kill it for him. If the gun goes through Lazzeroni's shop, I would think it would be a real nice peice of work.

Does anyone manufacture loads for Lazzeroni rifles or must one handload for a Lazeroni Patriot?

You either handload or pay the $100 a box price. I contacted Lazzeroni himself trying to find out what distributors had the Savages and he was no help at all. He didnt even try to be helpful, so I gave up on getting one. Will probably get a 300WSM. Ammo will be cheaper and easier to find.
