A nationwide pro-animal organization is trying to do away with fishing in Washington state parks.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent a letter to state Parks and Recreation Director Cleve Pinnix on Wednesday asking for a ban on fishing, an activity members call a "violent activity."

The organization also sent a letter to each individual state park in Washington -- including two in Clallam County and nine in Jefferson County.

The group says that fish feel pain like other animals and that fishing should be stopped.

    These people need to find their proper place in the food chain...let's round them up and put them in zoo's with the polar bears...that way we can protect the poor defenseless fish used to feed bears....it allows the bears a more natural and realistic enviroment where they can catch a Peta person for lunch and retain their natural hunting skills.

    On O'Reilly this week, they had some wimpy PETA guy claiming that a woman in prison for, I believe, murder, had the right to a Vegan diet as a matter of religious principle, that being that animals shouldn't suffer to feed her. I kind of thought the taxpayers should not have to suffer for it, either. Sometimes the 8th Amendment puts too many restrictions on the system.

    what i really want to know is, how in the hell do people get so screwed up? it's the tax payers paying for those parks. those way out idiots don't realize that? peta stands for "People for the Eating of Tasty Animals".
