Tipper Gore decides not to run for U-S Senate seat from Tennessee Nashville, Tennessee-AP -- Tipper Gore's decided she won't run for her husband's old U-S Senate seat from Tennessee -- at least, not this year.Gore says the time's not right for her to run for the seat being vacated by Republican Fred Thompson, who's not seeking re-election.She spent the weekend with associates discussing a possible run.The wife of former Vice President Al Gore said she'd work on behalf of the Democratic nominee for that seat and other Democratic candidates.Al Gore held the seat from 1985 to 1993.Democratic Congressman Bob Clement has set a news conference for tomorrow morning about a possible run for the job. Former Governor Lamar Alexander and Congressman Ed Bryant will compete for the Republican nomination.

    I'm disappointed. The family record would have stood at 0 for 2 and made it an easy run for the Republican candidate (assuming she won nomination - are even Democraps that stupid . . . rhetorical question, please don't answer!). Not to mention all the plethora of great quotes we'd have on the record and new dumb blonde jokes she'd inspire. She could play music backwards (I've never quite figured out how that would be done on standard equipment) for her theme song, etc. Yeah, I am disappointed. It would have been funnier listening to her campaign than a Robin Williams' monologue.

    I don't think she would have done any good anyway. If her husband had won in Tenn. in the last Presidential Election he would have been President now.

    She had no intention of running. Her and hubby are just trying to get the name "Gore" back in peoples minds...Pure politics...
