Do you think there is life on other planets? I know it is an age old question. Just curious what some of you think.

i believe whole-heartedly there is, how could we be so ignorant to think we are alone and that all that realestate up the is empty??nobody says they have to be superior, or inferior in intelegence compared to us,there has to be someone or something else out there besides us, i just think that would be an awfull waste of space if we were alone...just my opinion, go ahead and laugh now,it wont be the first time someone laughed at my opinion on this.

Oh yea, "they" exist. Some have interstellar transportation capabilities...and humans on this planet have made contact with them...

...I could tell you all about it, but then I'd have to kill you--and with most here being "into guns" that would be more dangerous work than I'd want to do, so I'll just keep my mouth shut about it.

Look at the middle east. The foundation of civilization?HAH! Somebody or something beamed down there thousands of years ago, hung around for awhile, showed them a few tricks and then split. They've been the same ever since, wipin' their butts with their best clothes, smellin'like camels, living in the sand in tents.

not to get TOO theological here, but, It is mighty vain to think that the only life in the known universe, galaxy, nebula, star-whatever, is us. kind of like thinking that the only gun is a Kimber,Glock, S&W,etc. And yes, there is life other than on earth(I had to come from somewhere, right?)
BTW Sig is the ONLY pistol worth spending money on(or so I've told my better half.)

I absolutely believe in life elsewhere in space. I also believe they've visited earth many times over the eons. Look at some of the prehistoric cave drawings that have been found depicting beings in space suits and helmets. We're supposed to believe that some 50,000 BC cave dweller just dreamed up the helmet, hoses and tanks on their back? Hardly! He drew a picture of something he'd seen.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're not living among us right now. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill Gates is from outer space.

There are those that have spent years, decades, their whole lifetimes looking for alien life in thye cosmos.

And in the end they die never knowing the answer to their lifes quest of trying to answer this question.

Like those that study the theory of evolution (the one that teaches man evolved from primates, to qualify what theory I'am speaking of) it's all a waste of good time,

Why waste time wondering about these lunatic theories, they all lead nowhere, except to incite arguments that never are conclusively settled.

One thing that has always amamzed me, that I have always noted about those who believe such things (evolution and extraterrestial life) is that they deny the possibility of an intelligent creator out of hand but believe that the possibility exists these evolved and galactic living beings just simply came into and exist, contrary to the laws of science.

If one cleaned horse stables all his life, he could at least point to the mountain of horse manure he moved all the days of his life (a mountain of it!),

While the majority of these eminent free thinkers who study these theories and live for them, don't have anything to point to as their life's accomplishments,

I suspect it is because the theories and speculation have something to do with horse manure.

I dont know about Martians or the bug eyed little green men but I do beleive there is life in the Galaxy other than this planet whether its vegetation, humanoid, reptilian or inhabited by the dead or the Dinosaurs I dont know but in this vast Universe there has to be more life out there.

Like most that have responded to this, I also believe that there has to be something besides us. To take into consideration how many light-years wide the universe is, and in the same instance say that we are all that's here, seems pretty far fetched. But, like turbo pointed out, I'm not believing so much that I'm willing to spend most of my life looking for the proof.

Let's see, women are from Venus, men are from Mars . . . . And the Klintoons are from the armpit of the universe.

More seriously, I find it awfully hard to believe we are alone given the vastness of the universe as we know it. It may not be infinite, but if you have enough monkeys & enough typewriters, something is likely to emerge . . . .

I read a book titled "The Day after Roswell" about four or five years ago. It made a believer out of me. It's not some I saw a UFO in the sky, I was abducted by aliens type of book. In it he provides copies of memos, letters, official military correspondence substantiating his book's premise-that the large leap in technology we experienced at the end of World War II and during the Korean Conflict Era are due in large part to alien technology gleaned from the Roswell crash and it's being farmed out to different corporations.

Here is what is said about the book on a quick search I did:

    The Day After Roswell
A Former Pentagon Official Reveals the U.S. Government's Shocking UFO Cover-Up
    by Colonel Philip Corso
"To say this is a significant book, if not the most significant book to appear on a UFO subject in decades can hardly be considered an exageration. If even a portion of Corso's extraordinary claims are true, the implications are staggering. Corso has told a fascinating story, at times cinematic, with enough meat to keep UFO researchers chewing for years to come."

    -- Peter Jordon, UFO Magazine

    Colonel Corso's background:
Military officer during World War II and Army intelligence officer on General Douglas MacArthur's staff during the Korean War; member of the President Eisenhower's National Security Council as a Lt. Colonel for four years; head of Foreign Technology in Army Research and Development at the Pentagon in the early 1960s, where he was in charge of the Roswell Files, the cache of UFO parts and information which "an Army retrieval team . . . pulled out of the wreckage of a flying disk that had crashed outside the town of Roswell in the New Mexico desert in the early-morning darkness during the first week of July 1947."; retired from the Army in 1963 with nineteen medals and ribbons; then served as National Security specialist staff to U.S. Senators James Eastland and Strom Thurmond; and subsequently has worked as a consultant and contracts administrator in the private sector.

    Revelations:
Colonel Corso tells that there were five extraterrestrials, 4-1/2 feet tall with greyish-brown skin, four-fingered hands and oversized hairless heads, found at the Roswell UFO crash site, two of them still alive. One tried to run away and was shot by nervous soldiers. The other was still alive but dying when he arrived in the back of an Army truck at Roswell Army Air Field. He was Post Duty Officer at Fort Riley, Kansas in 1947, the night a shipment of Roswell artifacts arrived from Fort Bliss. Colonel Corso examined the shipment, which included one of the dead extraterrestrials preserved in a thick light-blue liquid. The shipment was destined for what is now called Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Corso speaks about serving in President Eisenhower's National Security Council, and seeing the memos about the Roswell incident and the "goods" retrieved from it.

The Colonel divulges how he spearheaded the Army's supersecret reverse-engineering project that "seeded" extraterrestrial technology at American corporations such as IBM, Hughes Aircraft, Bell Labs, and Dow Corning - without their knowledge. He describes the devices found aboard the Roswell craft, and how they became the precursors for today's integrated circuit chips, fibre optics, lasers, night-vision equipment, super-tenacity fibers (such as Kevlar plastic armor), and classified discoveries, such as psychotronic devices that can translate human thoughts into signals that control machinery, Stealth aircraft technology, and Star Wars particle-beam devices. He also discusses the role that extraterrestrial technology played in shaping geopolitical policy and events; how it helped the United States surpass the Russians in space; spurred elaborate Army initiatives such as SDI (Star Wars Projects), Project Horizon (to place a military base on the Moon), and HAARP; and ultimately brought about the end of the Cold War.

Colonel Corso also said that captured UFOs were/are kept at Norton, Edwards and Nellis (Area 51) Air Force Bases. He said a UFO Working Group was set up by President Truman in September, 1947, a group some call MJ-12, and that it has functioned ever since. In the 1950s two crude prototypes of antigravity craft were constructed, but were powered by crude human nuclear fission generators, and were inefficient and leaked radiation. He says that the Star Wars program was always primarily to prepare for war against the extraterrestrials in case of invasion.

Maggie- That quote attributed to Hitler is Urban Myth. He never said it.

Life on other planets. Look at the probabilities: The Universe, while finite, is unimaginably huge. Given the number of galaxies, the greater number of star systems at least some small percentage of which have planets the possible number of places for even life as we might recognize it is enormous. Thus, the probability that some form of life exists somewhere out there approaches unity, i.e. it is a very near certainty. Could be silicon based, and we might not notice it as life though.

On the other hand, the nearest star system is thirty light years away. To imagine that little green guys would travel that far or farther only to play hide and go seek with us when they arrive is sheer idiocy.

Life? Not a matter of belief or knowing... Run the numbers and there can't be any other conclusion.

Intelligent life? Again, the numbers say yes.

Life similar to us? Probably (carbon-based anyway).

And one last comment... Your question almost pre supposes that we're the apex of life. My personal feeling is that we probably don't rate earthworm staus. Too many chances for something or someone to have come before us and be far up the ladder of evolution, or creation, or whatever you might call it.

no offense taken, but i am glad i got your attention. i just wanted to point out how pointless these arguments are, even with the advocacy roles reversed. talk about never conclusively settled! does it really matter as long as it is Divine?

yes, i guess i borrowed the 'form' of your response, but the 'text' is definitely NOT copied without due recognition of the author, so plagarism is not an issue.

no, i do not shovel, but after reading some of the responses here, i do feel like the wagon wheel; i've been through it!

First there is life in other planets ....
Second there are over 146 different races of aliens aware of Earth existance (Including some realy bad to your health ones) .

I came from ORION 86,000.years ago and entered your evolutionary stream to accelerate your evolution (Quite stagnant in the past 78K
    years ).

There are 3,600,000 of us here & I am the only one to have
    stated so in public .....

The US goverment has denied the existance of project doble nine
sinse its discovery in 1940 and developed stargate with the help of other alien races with the intent to control the ones from orion .

Due to that we let the draconians (Reptile like beings with an attitude) get here, letting the space time portals open.

Your dear president bush is one ......as anyone that can see the Human AURA .....you have to learn a lot from the lizard race yet.

OR get A T ray camera and see his true energy form ,I am sure you will be greatly entertained knowing who realy rules you .....

We realy are on strike,so we will let all hell break loose soon, so the ones that want "control" can realy have it, quite a brand new and improved experiment in human development.

Anyway there is always an 800 mile asteroid up there to implement tabula rasa protocol if anything goes wrong....

The BIG ROCK that will destroy the kindoms biblical statue in the end of times ...... The "Jesus" asteroid ...

ALLWAYS if you look for ALIENS you will find religion and if you look at religion deeply you will find aliens, well I am not fond in keeping people enslaved to religion and maybe the aliens are all of us or OUR future .....in a regresion to our past.
