While our troops are dying, crooks are getting rich on the war.
If you have 82 million to spend on contractrs to help rebuild war-shattered Iraq, you might not want to put it in the hands of a convicted felon. But thats just what the U.S. Military did in 2003.

When Robert Stein was hired to serve as a Key administrator in Iraq for the U.S. led Coalition Provisional Authority he had a 1996 conviction for credit card fraud. And so Stein was assigned to dole out lucrative government contracts as part of the reconstruction meant to help bring democracy to Iraq and to hep bring democracy to Iraq and let U.S. Troops come home quickly.

Steins interests lay elsewhere, specifically his bank account. According to a guilty plea he entered in federal court in February, Stein stole at least 2 million dollas and bought (or escepted as bribes) Luxury items like a Porsche, a Lexus , a Cessna airplane and even diamond rings.

Stein also admitted that he took sexual favors from women provided by Philip Bloom, a U.S. Businessman to who Stein Funneled more than 8.6 million in contracts through a rigged bidding process.

AH! to be one of the "Good Ole Boys"

According toa 2005 eeport there was no accurate accounting for about $9 billion spent early in the occupation. Its not just scheming contractors; Iraqis are skimming big bucks too. There are even reports that money is being diverted to fund the insurgency all of which extends our stay in Iraq..

Philp Bloom is another great guy who was bribing at least two US military officers ($100K each), in order to secure contracts in Iraq for his Romanian based construction company. There is just too much money floating around in Iraqi contracts and very few people keeping track of it. There was also a guy on here GB who questioned my reading abilites (I hold a doctorate in structural engineering but I can only type) so it appears to be quite common question on these boards.
