Fed up with NASCAR??????

NASCAR is rapidly sinking to the level of WWF.
It is no longer a competitive sport but entertainment.
Red flags near the end of the race, yellow flags for debris on track to give
the loser's a chance to pit and stack up for wreck filled restart so the fans
can have a crash, bang finish but eliminate cars that have run in the top 10
for most of the race.
Do you have a different opinion????

I got a mint Dale E Case knife. Issued in 2000 with case and papers. Only 2000 were produced. The irony of the knife is was called the Case "Racing for the Future" knife. Anybody interested in purchasing this knife should contact me @ killer-dealz@sunflower.com

Trust me, if Jr. had been running out of the top 10, they WOULD have red flagged it to give him a chance to close up. Same with Jeffy but he was too far back for them to have made it look legit. I don't think I've seen DJ that pi$$ed since he threatened to put Jeffy over the fence a few years back.
My guys are Bobby and Tony and whoever takes Jr. and/or Jeffy out. Tony's doing OK but should stay home instead of going to Daytona.
Bobby seems to get caught up in EVERY wreck there is.
The article in my paper this morning was about 10% about Waltrip and 90% about #3. People WILL NOT let the man go away!
He was a race car driver, not a religion!!!

I keep saying that I'm not going to watch another restrictor plate race......"Every time I think I'm out, they keep drawing me back in."

    This is news?????

    Here is a news flash:

NASCAR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACING!!!!

    IT IS ALL ABOUT ADVERTISING!!!

I saw a show on it a few years ago, they said they make something like 1,000 times more money on advertising than anything else (like winning the race!)

It was just sick.....they have stuff like "hat drills" where they practice putting on different hats for the cameras, etc.

Since when was racing about advertising?????

    Merc

NO! You may not have my guns! Now go crawl back into your hole!

I have no respect for people who call themselves professional drivers and cant drive in the rain or even on a wet road.
If you want to see some real racing forget NASCAR.
    It's a joke.

I really no nothing about NASCAR.
But I think that WARD BURTON has some things going for him. I might be wrong but he

    1. Drives a Dodge (that's good)
    2. The number on his car is the same as my birthday(22)
    3. He is somewhat sponsored by the NRA

I don't enjoy racing as much as I used too. It is big business now and the bottom line is making money and keeping sponsors. Also being on network TV rating are very important. THe cars are so even today with all the rules almost anyone can win a race under the right conditions. Nobody really runs out front from week to week anymore. I also have begun to wonder lately what is going on with all the late red and yellow flags. I think if something happens with 10 laps or less to go that no laps should count while they are under the yellow for a restart. Let them race it out under green.
Does anyone know what happened to my favorite driver "Lake Speed"? He was one the best that ever turned a lap in NASCAR'S history.

I do not watch NASCAR anymore, but I would love to see anyone say they will drive and then ACTUALY drive at 100+ mph in the rain or on a wet track.

"Big E' was no god but he was very generous with funds to farmners in his home area when they were flooded out, at least that is what I read.

I kinda like the phrase "Anybody but Jeff".

    FOX sucks.

I have caught alot of crap for this being down south but I dont like nascar.I dont care much for circle trackk racing the road courses are the only ones I will watch.I am a faithful follower of World Rally.AMA Superbike and World Superbike.I think World Rally is the best form of racing because they deal with actual enviroment. Not smoothed tracks with banking. They get out there and go 150 down a dirt road thats barely wide enough for the car, they eal with potholes, bystanders, and any other impedance a country has to offer.Thats hardcore racing. But my favorite race of all time and I watch it every year is the Isle of Man TT in England. That is also another hardcore race.

There is only one way to race, ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FEET, flat foot all out balls to the walls hammer down 300 mph from a deadstop, what a rush!! 1000+ hp blown nitro methane drinking tire melting deafening monsters called NHRA TOP FUEL DRAGSTERS! And of course what other sport can anybody participate in the fun with the family grocery gitter and win a trophy?

Really sorry that I never got a a chance to see the old time drivers race on the beach.

Also believe there was a different "breed" of driver back when the guys raced two to three times a week.

Regarding Jeff Gordon, and he is not my favorite driver, it may turn out that he will be of the sports all time best drivers.

Also believe that his wifes lawyer is going to bleed Jeff dry.

BTW if you really want to have a hard on for nascar just purchase some of the International Speedway Stock.

Annual meeting declares that Corp. never makes any money and that "capital improvements" takes what little bit of profit there is.

I don't recall seeing many empty seats at any of the televised races that I have watched.

Our four tickets run us approx
$ 600.00 + just for the Firecracker 400. Hard to believe the stock can't do better.

"I have no respect for people who call themselves professional drivers and cant drive in the rain or even on a wet road."

NOBODY races on ovals in the wet! Not even CART, which races on roadcourses in the rain.......it's simply too dangerous.

Squeaky....I believe Lake Speed is retired now: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/6183/

I agree that he was a fine driver, but how a former World Karting Champion ended up turning left all of the time is a puzzlement!

NASCAR is all about entertainment and has little to do with real racing. Rules change from race to race....interchangeable bodies and engines....yellows for "debris on the track"....make for close finishes and exciting watching, but it isn't REAL racing.

Driving fast is only exciting if your doing the driving, I'd rather watch golf than Nascar.

Hummm. Standing starts, racing in the rain (at over 150mph), several hundred HP, cutting edge equipment, egotistical drivers and team owners, lots of messy wrecks, minimun yellow flags, road courses (with some being real streets)? Sounds like F1 Gran Prix racing to me

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

I started out as a Cale Yarborough fan way back when. Dale sr caught my eye for a while after Cale retired. In the early 90's I lost interest in Dale and started following the LaBonte boys. If I were to sit and watch a race tomorrow I would be cheering Bobby on. The big aniversary and all it's hype turned me off a few years ago and I haven't watched more than 3 races since.

BUT, If you really want to know the best driver of them all, His name was Richie Evans. I grew up watching Richie run modifieds around here. He could put a car through a hole where nobody else saw a hole. I don't think anyone has matched his record yet. Others I grew up watching locally were Mike "Magic Shoes" McGloughan, Jimmy "Mr Excitement" Spencer, and Greg Sacks.

Woodsrunner.....I've gotta admit Richie Evans was a hell of a driver...probably the best Modified driver there ever was! I used to watch him (and the others you mentioned) run up at Stafford Speedway (in CT).

BTW....I went to school in your town (RIT) and used to race not far from you (Watkins Glen).

    Around and around and around...

Ho hum, don't watch it, bores me to death.

Give me any kind of road racing instead, especially motorcycles.

    Give me drag racing anyday.

Hey 7mm, those top fuelers are running closer to 5000 horsepower. Hell, the top fuel motorcycles are running 1000 HP.
