I'm greatful GM gave something to the efforts. I'd hate to feel I'd need to buy a F...Fo...For... I can't even say it.

Please don't get me wrong. I really feel for those lost family on 9/11......BUTThese people are going to be millionaires after the government gets through passing out your, and my, tax $$$. Then they'll get some more $$$ from the charities. TAX FREE!!!There's no need to make them multi- millionaires by dumping more $$$ into the pot.How many of the people who died on 9/11 would have made $1.65 million, AFTER TAXES, in their ENTIRE LIVES?And now we have people whining that the $1.65 million isn't enough. This has gotten totally out of the realm of reality.Jump down my throat if you want to. It won't change my feeling about this.Mudge the heartless

competentone's contribution--Nothing.(Except for my tax dollars--as noted by "the mudge".)Didn't these people believe in having life insurance to protect their loved ones in the event of their untimely deaths? All sympathied out.

Many policies did not cover this incident because acts of terror and war are typically excluded.Regardless, it is sick that the special op father who was killed in combat will get less from this government than the victims in the planes...

I agree with the above comments. For a lot of these families having the ol' man killed on Sept. 11th will turn out better than winning the lottery. There was also never any concern about me buying a foreign brand car. Ain't gonna happen. Never owned one...never will. I HAVE owned some foreign-made motorcycles, but for me it's no different than getting drunk and crawling in the rack with some barfly. I just pray that none of my friends find out and I'll try to do better next time.Rather my sister in the whorehouse than my brother on a Honda.
