In your experience, what is the most difficult North American game bird/animal to hunt factoring in eyesight, sense of smell, and hearing?

Turkeys and Honkers have always been the hardest for me. I have perfetcted my technique on all the others. Those two dang birds are tough. I am getting turkeys down, but a migratory (I have tasted the "other")honker has always eluded me. Ofcourse I'm not a shotgun guy. I guess bears are a good challenge and a man is never to be underestimated.Andy

Gotta go with elk.....can you imagine a 1000 lb animal with the hearing of a owl, eyesight of an eagle, nose of a bloodhound, and can move up and over the vertical slopes with the speed it does??? Plus you have to hunt it on its own turf...beware all you flatlanders...elk has a magic all its own...and its addictive. ..regards swede

Elk and cougars are tough, but there's one out there that they won't even give me a tag for...the elusive...and ever-dangerous...
    SASQUATCH
I ask when I buy my tags if it's a controlled hunt...but, only if it's a girl working at the counter. Kind of fun, you guys should try it sometime. It's just funny watching them search for it in the computer.

The spookiest animals I ever tried to get close to were Antelope (eye sight equals 8X binoculars) during the mid day,.....Aaudad Sheep, where every critter in the herd has their eyes on the lookout for each other, like hunting something with 20 eyes on watch,......and older mature Whitetail bucks, not the dumb 3-4 year olds, but the sly old boys with some experience that have to be hunted like a totally separate species....

here in missouri it's turkey's (gobbler's) in the spring for me. bagged my first spring of 2001. I am 30 and have hunted since I was a kid. No problem killing them in the fall, just spring. maybe it's because I sound like an old dead animal trying to call them.
I spent all my money on guns, women, and beer. The rest I just wasted.wiredog70@hotmail.com[This message has been edited by wiredog (edited 10-03-2001).]

The bobcat. Years ago we hunted them with dogs and that was easy compared to trying to get they without a dog. Have done it both ways. How many of you have ever seen a bobcat while hunting?
