Speaking strictly from a military point of view, I do belive that is what we call a "homestation return deployment training aid".Although not distributed DIRECTLY from Uncle Sam, these FM's (Field Manuals) are one of the primary means of maintaining levels of training for "Noctornal verticle envelopments".
