Activists mobilize after city's second police shooting in a week Email story to a friend Miami-AP -- Demonstrators have again taken to the streets of Miami after a police shooting involving black men, for the second time this week.An armed man was shot in the back yesterday while struggling with officers. The suspect's handgun went off near an officer's face, causing burns to his face. Another officer then shot the man, seriously wounding him.Friday's incident follows the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man in a stolen car on Monday. Community activists are demanding expanded powers for a civilian panel investigating allegations of police brutality.Congressman Carrie Meek of Miami has requested the Justice Department conduct a civil rights probe into the fatal shooting.

    Why is it always about color? Suspect has gun. Suspect's gun wounds officer. Officer's partner returns fire. Suspect dies. Case closed.It's always gotta be about color....sheesh.

    How many times a week does Florida law allow black men, (or anyone else) shooting at the police, to be shot? I guess it's like hunting. They reached their limit for the week and exceeded it. Sounds more like case for the game warden than the DOJ.
