British snubs Israel shooting team. Why?

The British Dept. of Trade and Industries just refused to allow
Eley of Birmingham to export .22 ammo for use by the Israel Shooting
Team for use in the Finnland matches next month. Reason given was
that they might be used for aggression purposes in their battle
with Palestine. What a crock of ---t. Back in the 40's dumb U.S.
citizens sent over rifles for the British Home Guard for defence
and after a while the Brits destroyed them. Looks like another
great anti gun outlook or just choosing sides in the conflict.
By boycotting K mart, we really hurt them ( and Rosie O) so maybe
we should boycott Eley at distributor level. And let or distributors
know . And no, I am not a Jew, but a Irish- Canadian Christian
U.S. infantry vet of WW 2. This news is on World News Daily today.

Apparently, the Brits are actually enforcing their beliefs. The Arms Sale Act regarding Israel says in effect, "no aggressive use outside Israel, defensive use only." When I wrote the Dept of Defense Foreign Military Sales Program questioning the use of US arms against the Palestinians, I got the answer, "we're studying it." That was over 20 years ago and they are still studying it. Hooray for the Brits.

It's not what you know that gets you in trouble, it's what you know that just ain't so!

Eley for aggression against the Palestinians? What a crock! Israel can get other ammo cheaper than Eley for those purposes!

I'm not terribly surprised. It isn't particularly overt, but there have always been strong anti-Semetic elements in British culture & foreign policy. Note that it wasn't the Arabs who 'encouraged' the Brits to leave Palestine, but the Hagannah . . . and when they left, they tried to leave nothing behind which would contribute to the defense of the Zionists.

This is true in much of the rest of Europe; anti-Semitism is tacitly, if not openly, an acceptable view . For example, under the Soviets, and still today, that faith was / is considered
the person's nationality, the same as if they were Latvian, Ukrainian, etc. Any other religion is considered simply a religion.

I would add, I'm not a practitioner of that faith or of any other. I alternate between sadness, amazement and amusement at the behaviors occasioned by beliefs in supernatural forces. Before those who subscribe to such beliefs start flaming, I wish to assert that I respect your right to hold them and do not mock any unless they are forced upon me . . . I just don't buy into them, any of them.

My Question is ...WHY are all the idiots in charge? Is it like some unwritten rule ..."sh*t raises to the top"??? God save us ALL! ...from ourselves!!!

"FEAR the Goverment, that fears your ARMS"
