I purchased a LaserAim barrel for my P-220. It is a drop in barrel converting it from .45acp to .400 Cor-Bon. I use the same mags and it works flawlessly. The .400 is an awesome round. You can purchase barrels from a number of manufacturers. You can find links at www.cor-bon.com [This message has been edited by BigTex (edited 11-02-2001).]

I bought a 400 CorBon barrel at a gunshow in Greensburg,Pa about a year ago. It is a generic one, 5inchs and cost me $45.00 new.I put it a 1911 I put together last year withan Essex frame and slide. The barrel did need some fitting but not alot. I was able to use a standard link and the 45acp bushing.I had jaming problems during cycling. I was able to correct this by smoothing down the nipple in the magazine and bending the magazine spring into a banana shape. Both of these took care of my problem.(I use the military contract magazines).I am very pleased with the performance of this cartridge. Very accurate[This message has been edited by POLECAT (edited 11-02-2001).]

BIG TEXHave you worked with or found any good loads for the 400 Cor Bon using 155gr cast bullets? Can't find anything anywhere for that bullet weight.

briley makes a great 400 barrel for the 1911. the corbon website has some load data on it, though they do not show any loads for a 155grn cast bullet. had a kimber of mine worked over with a fitted briley barrel...quite the impressive shooting gun now.

If you check Brownells they have .400 for the 1911, SIG and Glock by various manufactures including Barstow, Briley, Ed-Brown, KKM etc.. You can also load your own .400 rounds using .45 brass and proper dies from any major die maker.

I've had a Briley 400 barrel for my 1911 for around 4 yrs now, have fired all weights of factory and it is a great round. I don't reload, so it's expensive to shoot a lot. Haven't found any cheap plinking ammo for it. my 2 cents berto

CMA sells a 165gr FMJ and 155gr JHP for $20 & $25 for a box of 50. 1911 drop-in barrels are available but it is recommended that an 18lb recoil spring be used.
