New Glock-Great Fun, but BAD BRASS!

Picked up a Glock 30 a couple of weeks ago. Shoots great, and I love it, but here is one problem.

It WHACKS me right in the forehead when it spits the brass out! Needless to say, this is more than annoying!

It does it about 90% of the time with the 185 gr Winchester loads, and about 50% of the time with the 235 gr Federal loads. (I think they are 235, I don't have them in front of me.)

Any idea how to prevent this? It is VERY annoying, and really interferes with my shooting!

Other than that problem, I LOVE THIS GUN! I shoot better with it with NO PRACTICE than I do with any of my other guns!

Merc

NO! You may not have my guns! Now go crawl back into your hole!

There is an answer to this, but I forget what it is, Wolff springs or something else. Ask a good armorer.

I believe it's remedied by slightly changing the shape or lightening the spring on the extractor. That's why after a few 100 rds it wll usually take care of itself. You'll notice a difference in rim thickness between the brass. Short of taking it to a gunsmith, try buying ammo with brass whose rim resembles that of the 50% brass ( probably thinner) until it wears a little.
