Sure is a lot of them this weekend.

Anyone catch the prices of ARs if they had them?

Im thinking a private seller with an AR will pull an insane ammount at a gunshow if there are not any on the tables

I have two guns a Dakota 22LR and a Caesar Guerini 20 Guage that I am taking to a gunshow this weekend and do not know how to go about selling them there. I am a rookie at gunshows. Any tips?

Load them up before you leave the house. When you get to the gun show door tell them you want a "one way ticket to the show"! This will bring you the attention you need to market your guns. After that it will be up to you. good luck[:D]

When im at gunshows, I usually see induviduals (aka private parties) walking around with the gun they're trying sell slinged across their back with a piece of paper taped to it that says "FOR SALE: $xxx".

    Try that approach (if allowed)

make a little flag on a stick that will fit in the muzzle of your for sale gun. then walk around the gun show with it slung (muzzle up). Hopefully you'll get some buys...

    OR

I heard that there's this website out there called gunbroker that will let you sell your guns online!

Frankly speaking, just walking in the front door of most local gunshows is not the best way to sell a firearm. Most of the interested buyers will be dealers, and they can not offer you full retial value for your guns (they need to be able to make a profit on the future sale). Your best bet (and the easiest method) is to sell them through your local gunshop on consignment.

    1) You want cash only. Do not accept checks. You're bound to find yourself with a bad check.

    2) Check your local laws. In some cases, you may find that any buyer has to undergo a background check prior to transfer. Make the buyer pay the background check fee.

    3) Ask a much higher price than you are willing to accept. Nobody that I've ever seen pays asking price. They're going to nickel and dime you down. I'd suggest a 20% markup. If you wind up with more than what you expect, great.

    4) Remember, you don't HAVE to sell the gun, so if the potential buyer is not willing to meet your minimum price, don't cave in and sell it. Tell him thanks, but no thanks, and walk off. Sometimes, you'll find that walking off is the surest way to get someone to increase their offer if they really want something.

You may well do better selling outside the show than in on the floor.

As Spanielsells said CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS. Even if no background check is required, get a copy of his drivers license, or copy all the info from it: name, address, license number etc. You want to be 1. as sure as possible you are not selling to a convicted felon or an underage buyer. You want to be able later to show when and to whom you sold it if it turns up used in a crime.

Forget the gunshow.....Sell your guns down at the car wash.....You can usually get more, although you may have to accept partial payment of crack or a date with one of Tyrone's girls (also crack)......

I am always watching for individuals carrying guns to sell at shows. It helps if you have them where they can be seen clearly, not in a case. Also you can make up a small sign and tape it on your back identifying the make and model of what your trying to sell. If you do get a buyer, get identification such as a drivers license. If you have a looker, get over out of the traffic to let them look at it. Nothing makes a dealer happier than if you stand in front of the table he paid to use while you sell your gun.

I have bought some really nice firearms that were walking around gunshows. The last one was a 3 1/2" pre 27 S&W revolver.[^]

    If you're a non-FFL how do you a background check? [:D]
