Anyone Collect One Gun In Particular?

I know Mark Christian is the god of all things Garand, but I was curious if anyone else collected a certain kind of firearm. For myself, being the young collector, I don't have much to speak of, but I do own 3 M44s and will be having another one or two coming my way shortly! [^]

I have two favorites I collect. Model 12 Winchesters and High Standard target pistols. But I will buy any old .22 that catches my eye even if it has no value. Last show I went to I picked up a prewar Savage model 5, paid 55.00 for it. Got home and looked it up,its worth 65.00. But I tore it down and cleaned it thoroughly and it shoots excellant. So I only made 10.00,but I got a neat new gun to squirrel hunt with this year.Treasure is in the eye of the beholder :)

    Anything Remington.

And 4 Khan shotguns (they were cheap and make nice hunting guns)

I have a weakness for engraved Belgium firearms...unfortunately the price has limited my collection to three specimens.

Currently have 5 Browning High Powers....maybe that's trend.

4 rifles (model 52's)....always looking for more.

All the rest of the collection serve a needed purpose for hunting, target shooting.

I collect old pumps, mostly from the late 1800's and first half of the 1900's. I mostly have 22's but also have 25, 30, 32, 35, and 44 cal. I also won't turn down a nice vintage pump shotgun. My catagory is fairly broad, but it always gives me something to look for.

I tend to stick with Remingtons anymore.

That means you have too much diversity. Stop looking for bargains and fritter away money like the rest of us (besides, we want those bargains)[^]

My collection consists mostly of .22's.
My favorite being the Remington model 241 which I have 5 of.

Had to walk away from one at the last gun show.Absolutely mint condition. He wanted $400 for it which was a bit high, but then I've never seen one in that kind of shape.Maybe it's a good thing I was a bit financialy embarrassed at the time.

I seem to collect guns whose makers names begin with "S". S&W, Sig, Springfield, Savage, Sturm Ruger, Steyr, Stoeger. That's just sounds strange!

Double barrelled shotguns. NID Ithaca, L.C. Smith, Fox-Sterlingworth, Eastern Arms Co. (that one is really old), couple of Savage's, and a Baikal.

Just really jealous of wundudnee's awesome collection of 62 and 62A Winchesters. Or were a couple of those Rossi's?

I have many guns but I seem to collect mostly military arms. The un-PC "black guns" are my favorite. But I do have 4 AR-15's, all different.

My wife doesn't think I have a collection. She thinks I have an obsession. One of my favorites are my Austrian Voeres. I have three and had the good fortune to visit the factory about 3 years ago.

scuta, I sure am glad to see that I am not the only .45 nut around here. The only .45 I'm lacking right now is a .45 GAP, and that will be coming soon.

    I also like 100-year-old top-break revolvers.

I guess, if anything it would be Colt AR15's. The real AR15's not the HBAR and sporter and match target stuff. Prefer the green labels but have been weak of late with the LE blue labels...

Currently (while nothing compared to Mark or DWS) I have 5 AR's:

    1. Colt AR15 SP1 20"
    2. Colt AR15 SP1 CAR
    3. Colt AR15 SP1 M4gery
    4. Colt AR15 LE M4 6920
    5. Colt AR15 LE M4 6920

Love me the little black guns! Am selling one of the LE6720's and that should almost pay for the one I keep!

I went to Tulsa thinking early 52. I've seen the picture of your's and it is beautiful. I looked at several, but didn't find "the one."
I saw this 69 and couldn't get away from it. For the price I should have bought a 52. Maybe next year.[:)] I did see a guy that had bought a repro 52 like new with scope rings for $400.00. That looked like a fine rifle.

There are certain guns which most would agree or, atleast at the time the guns were made, most would have agreed that they were the best of that type made. The Ballard with the old long tube scope was one for which I gladly gave up a new Match Target Hbar Colt. The Springfield M22 was another as was the Marlin 39. I am trying to get just one of each of the great guns produced over the last 200 years.I have around 20 so far. The rest of my guns are nice, but if the right candidate comes along I would trade them in a country minute. Then on occassion I find one that I have , but is in better shape and I get the better one and trade off the old one.
