Did that really happen? I know I sw the "AP" portion, but I still can't belive it. I would think the liberals would soak the headlines of every major paper with a juicy tidbit like that.If it is true though...Grandmother shoots assailant - one step forward for gun rights.Officer shoots kid in the head - a hundred steps back.

Amazing. If it is true, it is not suprising, considering how police find it OK to ignore basic gun safety rules. You know the one about assuming a gun is loaded, even when you are sure it is "unloaded".Another reason why police should not be exempt from gun control laws.

It is true. Just read it in the Philadelphia Inquirer. cOP WENT TO PICK UP child from school. Kids asked to see her badge, then asked to see her gun. She removed magazine, and passed the gun around. THE IDIOT LEFT A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER. WHEN she got her gun back, she apparently "accidentally" pulled the trigger when she inserted the magazine.Geez, what kind of people do they put on police forces?

This shows the wisdom of the city fathers in limiting the general populace's access to firearms . . . . If you can't trust the police, who can you trust? Obviously, no one should be trusted with firearms in Phila. Not to mention the rest of the country. What we need to do is surrender all the firearms to the UN and turn the world over to the drug cartels and Islamic terrorists, then we'd be sure to have a peaceful existence.I hope the parents sue the city, the training program, and any other person they can think of for about $80 billion. And the dumb b***h should be put in the slammer for the rest of her days. Probably one of the equal opportunity recruits and went to school w/ the Fibby who left the SMG in her car on a street in NYC last year.

The local media is really playing down the seriousness of this incident as well as the local PD. An unauthorized PD demonstration and direct violation of PD firearm regulations and a child shot in the head or grazed according to the news since it was a female minority LEO doing the shooting. What kind of an idiot, LEO or civilian, would take a loaded firearm to school in these sensitive times for an unauthorized demonstration and, at the childrens' request, pass a handgun around the class for their inspection aside from unloading and then loading the weapon next to the children? Was this off duty LEO going to take the children on an unauthorized bus trip to Washington next? According to the reports the firearm discharged upon the LEO chambering a round after inserting the clip and dropping it then pulling the trigger trying to catch it as it fell. If a legal, well intended, but no common sense Joe Civilian did this it would have resulted in a media frenzy and he would have been arrested and put in jail for a good many years and rightfully so.
