Whats the practical effectiveness of a Laser Aiming Module on a rifle? They are mostly offered only for pistols, but I think they might be useful on a rifle if they're strong enough.Any particular brand? Is it just a silly toy or is it worth the effort?

I've got mixed feelings about lasers. I've tried 'em on a handgun and a rifle. I've found that, more often than not, I'm looking for the red dot on my target instead of getting a good sight picture on the spot I want to hit. In other words, I can see the dot on the target and then have to make sure it's where I want it to be. I think I'd much rather go with the good old fashioned sight picture. The laser on the rifle was getting a bit hard to see at about 50 yds.Mudge the old fashioned
