"We"?? "We" didn't get jack.........just like the "tax relief"......another screwing to the public. Sure......most people got money back, but we'll end up paying that back 10x over.I donated ALL of mine to the local food bank! Screw'em!Merc

The tax refund check from last year IS NOT subject to income taxes. This was a refund of taxes overpaid. It's no more subject to income tax than any other IRS refund you might get after filing your income taxes.I put my 600 bucks toward a National Resophonic guitar. Have to try to strike a balance between my firearms and my musical instruments.

If it isn't counted as income, I wonder why our accountant needed to know the amount. I will have to ask some questions!!

This "tax rebate" was based on money not in the budget, or anywhere else in reality. It was from a speculated surplus. We all will pay for it in the long run.I was told. apparently not true. that it would be taxed. And the only thing that is keeping us from really getting screwed is that GW got the war he was hoping for.It was the only thing that would make it ok to rob SS, and other chunks of our money from us.to cover the tax refund. and that means that we will be taxed more for people to still not do their job.Go out here and try this on your own.Buy something with a rubber check. and see how far you get.We didn't have a dime of this money in hand to refund to anyone. And when all is said and done. I won't have a social security to look foward to. although I've been paying it all my life.My social security will be pissed away on the pipe dream of Star wars now.neither the democrates or the republicans give a rats * about us. all we are is the money for their hairbrained scheems.Until we take back the gov't. that was for the people, by the people etc. we will always be under the thumb of them. And to all of you out there fighting for the second amendment.you will lose this fight. All because you are willing to give up a little and some totally.and have put us where we are todayneither one of them (dems or reps) care abouttax breaks for us. Next year, just as last, and the year before. we will have new taxes. Read my lips.George bush seniorover my dead body GW bushsounds like the same drivel doesn't it? Scott

You were not taxed on it this year. If your accountant asked about anything, it is your tax REFUND from last year, that is taxable.KC

The tax reductions haven't even gone into effect yet. The money ($300-$600) we got back was money that we'd already had taken from us and is NOT taxable.ps. Scott. I'm normally the easiest person in the world to get along with but.....Have you ever found ANYTHING that you LIKED? Have you EVER smiled? You seem to get upset with EVERYTHING that's said here. If it bothers you....GO AWAY. If you want to join in the comeraderie here, by all means, hang around BUT.......Lighten up, man. The stuff on this forum has NOTHING to do with the real meaning of life.Mudge the pleasant
