Can somebody explain this to me?
I'm not afraid of the dark...the dark is afraid of me!
The state is saying that only people who work for the state can exercise the right freely.
That is not extending rights-that is just giving more power and authority to the state, and has nothing to do with the right to bear arms.
Happiness is a warm gun
Allowing special CCW privileges for off-duty/retired LEO's has absolutely no correlation to allowing national carry for private citizens. If the lawmakers wanted to allow private citizens national carry, they'd pass a bill that says so. Such a law would automatically include LEO's without having to specifically target (no pun intended) them. I doubt that national reciprocity will ever happen.
