FREEEEEEEEEEEI'm finally out.
Thank you is totally inadequate.
I can't tell you how much your prayers, well wishes, postive attitudes and humor helped me. A few days there I was in dire need of a "smiley". You folks provided it.
And now the REALLYgood news. The Dr. that did the operation, on first look at the biopsy report, was leaning toward it being malignant. Today he said that what he cut out of me was so unusual (leave it to me) that he had a consultation with two other tumor experts and after that consultation was leaning toward benign. He still has to get the final pathology report but I'm taking that news as good.

Again....thank you so much for your support!

    Hey Mudge,

Glad to hear they let you out. (Old news now, but I haven't had time to read much here.)

Now, regarding your doctors trying to decide whether or not your tumor is malignant or benign--I can't believe you've fallen for this!?! They're really not looking at your tumor, they're really examining your health insurance policy and trying to figure-out how well you're covered! If they smell money, you're going to require some very expensive, long-term treatment!

Ok, maybe I'm being just a little cynical.

Seriously, I wish you the best--and remember, even if there's "bad" news on the final pathology, with the treatments available today, even bad news, often isn't really that bad.

Keep your friends here informed, we're all behind you. (Well, we're behind you atleast when you're not wearing that silly hospital gown!)

The Oncologist came to visit me on my last day there. He says thyroid cancer is the easiest to treat and has few side effects. No hair loss or any of that other stuff. He says all they do is use radioactice iodine which goes right to your thyroid and is stored there. (Your thyroid is the only place in your body that stores iodine.) Then all they do is zap the thyroid. He described it as a pretty "clean" procedure so if it does turn out to be cancer, I'm not too worried about the prognosis.
