Cracker Barrel Guns

The next time that you eat at a Cracker Barrel take a look at the gun hanging above the fireplace. With the manager's permission thats what I did the other day while having lunch at a Cracker Barrel along I-78 in PA. I was surprised to find a late model fully operational, ready to shoot Harington & Richardson 12 gauge single barrel shotgun hanging unsecured above the fireplace. I found it amusing how such a dangerous weapon unsecured and without a trigger lock could hang within feet of the thousands of customers (curious children included) who dined at that establishment and there has been no accidental or intentional shootings. It made me think why my guns are locked up and hidden away like the neighbor kid's uncle's dirty magazines and why Cracker Barrel proudly displays their guns above the fireplace out in full view of thousands of their guests? Perhaps we as gun owners are strangling ourselves in complying with nonsesnsible gun laws advocated by the antigunners. My trigger locks are now being used as paper weights and sling shot ammo and greatgrandpop's old SxS is above my fireplace again.
Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.[This message has been edited by gunpaq (edited 03-07-2002).]

Funny how things work out,a fully functional shotgun above the fireplace..but a guy went into the Cracker barrel, one exit south of me,a few years back, and slit the throats of 3 coworkers, and left them in the walk-in freezer..218
