Don't ask me why but I got intrigued with this old timer. Maybe because my partner just got a rifle and pistol in the .17HMR. I like centerfires, other than .22LR. Any way, I am thinking about starting a search for acquiring one for my personal arsenal.

What can anyone tell me about this old timer? I found out Winchester had a lever action in this caliber at one time (my favorite walking around picking carrying or saddle gun is a lever).

Seems to be a little more punch that the .22 hornet.

Generally for light duty varmit, beaver, etc rifle I shot a .223, but it does not come in a lever other than the Browning and I don't know that much about the Browning lever actions.

Fill me in oh wise ones.
