frozen action?

I just purchased my first bolt action rifle.It is a savage model 10fm. it has about 40 rounds through it. well today, i put a round through and went to eject it and and the bolt went slide back to let me eject it? the safety is off and i cant figure it out... Anyone have any suggestions???Thanks

    sounds like coated military ammo,coating heats up and sticks to chamber.Please tell more.

    Get out your manual that came with the rifle and call Savage Arms. Tell them what happened and they will let you know that you you were using handloaded ammo and that it developed "high pressure". Then when you send the rifle back they will fix it and send you a receipt making a notation that you used ammunition with "high pressure". Just went though this with them on a Savage Sierra that I sold a customer; fired four shots and the ejector failed. The last Savage bolt action rifle that I will ever sell!!! By the way, it was a 7mm-08 using factory loaded ammo.

    If the bolt won`t slide back,it sounds to me like the extractor is doin` a pretty damned good job.The ejector has not even had a chance at this point to do it`s thing.We have a stuck case!!!
    Will the last reb to leave flarda,please bring the flag?
