There are 3 gun shows in Florida on the weekend of November 10-11. Two of them are on the Atlantic side and probably out of range - certain the one at Jacksonville is.There is one on November 10-11 in Punta Gorda which is just south of Tampa. Either I75 or US41 will get you there. When you cross over the Peace River, you are there. The show is in the Charlotte County Auditorium on Taylor Street. There are lots of gun shops in the area, however, the only one I know about is Deer Hunter Guns (Don Noll) 2797 Gulf to Bay Blvd, in Clearwater (just a snug west of Tampa on the Gulf). He always has 2 or 3 tables at the shows in Ocala. His prices there are usually only a tad higher than the other dealers there, but generally the qualilty is better also. There are many gun shops that have very inflated prices at the shops but get more "real" a gun shows where there is plenty of competition.I will try to see if I can get METCO to come on line and give you some information. He is in Lakeland, a fairly short drive east of Tampa on US92.

G&G,I just drove back south from doing the ST. Pete show, which is actually in Pinellis Park, next to Tampa.I will Be at the Punta Gorda show this coming weekend.Punta Gorda is only an hour south of Tampa, down highway 75,and is one of the better shows in the state, with around 500 to 550 tables. This is the beginning of the season down here,so a lot of yankees bring in there guns ,and walk the floor..218

Deer Hunter Guns is a very small shop in a strip mall just a block of two after entering Pinellas Co. on RT 60. I was there not long ago and as I walked in I was greeted with "Hi I'm Don, would you like a cup of coffee while you look around?" Cannot beat the atmosphere.Beekeep ~ how did you do at the Expo Center? It is about two miles south of me so I had to check it out. It was far better than the shows that have been at the Honeywell plant. The parking was a bite but other than that I liked it. Walking around listening the the comments it seems that a lot of people were attending their first show.

win37,I really like the bldg, good size place, with lots of room.It was the first time in a while that the tables weren`t crammed in together.Speaking of tables:did you notice the tables were only 2ft wide??There have been a lot of 1st timers lately.I suppose I probably saw you...what day did you go??...You weren`t that big ol` fat, bald headed guy..walkin` around with that fine lookin`mama with the Daisy Duke shorts, that nobody could keep their eyes of...Were ya??.218[This message has been edited by 218Beekeep (edited 11-07-2001).][This message has been edited by 218Beekeep (edited 11-07-2001).]

Thank you all for the info.! Unfortunately Saturday night, and Sunday morning, are my only "free times". If I can make it Sunday, how will I identify any of you? Table locations, beehives, etc.?

Beekeep ~ I was there Sunday about noon. I did not notice the size of the tables but I did appreciate the wide isles. When I got home I emailed a dear friend who is presently using a wheel chair and told him about it.Fortunately I still have my hair, getting thin but still there, fat and old are rather subjective.Unfortunately, not I was not with Daisy Duke type. but the place did have quite a few good looking women to look at as one passed the cell phone/jerky/jewelery/etc tables.

All I had to look at across from me all weekend was a guy nodding out on H,or some kind of downs. Then his girlfriend came in Sunday and was doin` the same thing.I could not believe what I was seeing,he would go look under the table for something, for a buyer, and nod out while he was bent over looking. Then if his girlfriend was not in a nod,she would nudge him,and wake him up.No beehives, tell ya what:I`ll wear 2 badge stickers on my shirt, and i`ll be good lookin` in spite of thinning dark and greying hair...and the need to lose at least 35 lbs.Ya see,ol` .218 is a fairly stocky ol` boy, barely over 40 years of age..218[This message has been edited by 218Beekeep (edited 11-07-2001).]
