Something here is borrowed from one who posts here. Thanks, hope you don't mind. It's snowing outside as I write this. There's little wind and the snow is gently falling. It is very peaceful.Christmas is a very spiritual time for me. The lights, sights and sounds only make me realize how lucky, scratch that, blessed I am to be a part of this, His Grand Design. Yes I go out and spend what I can on loved ones just like most of us. But some of the more special times I can recall had nothing to do with money. Taking a child in the woods to look for the perfect tree to bring home. A phone conversation with someone you cannot be near at the time. The hugs, the smiles, the tears of those you can. I can remmember one Christmas Eve we had a storm many would say was awful. I was maybe 15 years old and a lot of cars were getting stuck out front of our house. We had just got back from midnite Mass. I must have been out there till 3AM helping people get unstuck so they could go home to their families. I refused every offer of payment for the favors. It is what you do in this season of giving that makes it special.Anyway, I have a few things for all of you. Even some for the kids. Even some for the kid in you. Aw heck, close enough to Christmas for me, the gifts are under the tree. Aren't you going to open them? What are you waiting for? Peace be with y'all. Spuds.PS. I never said that storm was awful. We're gonna have us an olde fashioned White Christmas. They're predicting snow beginning of the week too. http://www.reata.org/interview2.html [red] http://members.home.net/windycity14/swing.htm [/red][green] http://www.joecartoon.com/ [/green]Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano, amother took the small boy to a Paderewski concert. After theywere seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience andwalked down the aisle to greet her. Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concerthall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way througha door marked "NO ADMITTANCE."When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about tobegin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered thather son was missing.Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on theimpressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw herlittle boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear,"Don't quit, keep playing."Then leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left handand began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reachedaround to the other side of the child and he added a runningobligatio.Together, the old master and the young novice transformed afrightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was mesmerized. That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on ourown is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren'texactly graceful flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful.Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear.~ Author Unknown ~
