Be Sure You Have A Glass Display Case!

I was following a news story in NE PA about a person's firearms (100+ quantity) being confiscated by the police after a domestic disturbance. The firearms, mostly all new and estimated to be worth over $100,000.00, included a cross-section of sport and military type handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The gun collection or arsenal of destruction, according to the media, included some of the dreaded ugly assault type weapons all of which were legal, legally owned, and legally purchased as well as all the other guns. Although there were no firearm laws broken according to the police the collection was confiscated regardless. The police chief stated that he ordered the collection confiscated because the owner had no glass display cases and therefor was not a legitimate collector and the firearms in the collection were not sporting arms because of the high powered calibers. There is a lot more to the story but the bottom line is that all the guns were 100% legal in all respects except that the owner did not have a glass display case to make owning and possessing them legitimate. Needless to say the media was having a feeding frenzy with this one. Why did I get rid of my old glass front gun cabinet?
Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.
