Need quick answers: Wire folder for AK

All;

1st question:
A near-new Polish/Romanian wire folder has come up for sale @ a decent price (it's on auction, so who knows what will happen in the next couple of hours). I have a WASR-10 with the tangs for a wood stock, and I do NOT want to cut them off. Seller has told me I don't need to, as these folders use the tang as part of the mounting. He's got 99.7% good responses, so I'm inclined to believe him, but... he IS the seller. Is this so?

And 2:
How are these stocks for actually shooting? They look uncomfortable as all h-e-double-toothpicks. Has anyone actually fired a 7.62x39 AK with one of these on it? Did it make you want to swear off guns?

Any info you could offer would be appreciated.

    Yes, AFAIK, he's right.

    Anyway, this is what I was told to be true, but I do NOT have a WASR-10.

    Good luck!

    The two on the right are WASR10 with the wire folders. No need to cut the tang. You might want to paracord the stock as it gets hot in the summer sun.

    Typically the sticks are "drop in" but that does not mean that you won't ahve to do a small amount of fitting to get the proper fit. This could range from doing nothing at all to just a light application of a file in a few areas. You do not need to remove the upper tang because this is needed to secure the stock in place.

    + 1 to the above. It's best if it comes with the correct screws.

    There is a company out there that makes a pc of steel that bolts on to the Romanian and Polish wire folder that acts as a cheek rest.

    If looking for plug and play, get a Romanian Wire Folder.
    There are Polish Tantal wire folders out there but with them you have to make sure you get all the pieces. I've seen some on auction that are missing required parts to make them fit/work.

    What's nice about these folding stocks is they are sturdy - club a seal sturdy.

    Thank you all for the info; great advice. That auction unfortunately passed,[V] but now I'm sure that's the stock I want. I was contemplating (*shudder!*) Tapco.[:0]
