Preaching to the choir

Although this does not likely apply to the folks on this
forum, (your being here should indicate an intrest, or/and
knowledge of firearms) but I have run into quite a few
people lately telling me about guns they have, and find out
they are stored in the attic, ( at which point I always cringe)
I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Florida
putting a gun in the attic is not much differnt than tossing
it in a ditch for storage.
I have seen some once very nice guns ruined from attic storage.
So if you dont know any better, and have guns in your attic
get them out now. Any one else ever see this?

Was out for my Monday session at the range when I was approached by two older gentlemen who were interested in what I was shooting. I was exercising my 45 Springfield. One gentleman was from England and the other, his brother, from Canada. The gent from England said he had belonged to a shooting club until the govt. came and got their weapons and shut them down. He was amazed that I had ridden my motorcycle to the range with a 45 on my hip with no hassle. He said "my God what a great country". I assured him that I did it every week with no difficulty. He continued with a story about wanting to handle a 45 ever since he had seen one, as a child, during WW11. I then turned him loose with mine and a couple mags full. The smile on his face was something to behold.A small thing to make a friend for life and have an advocate for our way of life.I think that we, sometimes, take what we have for granted. His insight on the subject will keep me forever vigilant.Just a thought to pass along.

Smoky, that's awesome! I have a lot of family and friends overseas, and they love shooting when they're here. Although I don't think that most of us take our rights for granted (which is why we participate on such a forum) MANY people do. Great story!

Smokey,A couple of friends of mine were with me at the range back in the summer. We were approached by a middle aged man and his wife who were from Canada. He had grown up on a farm in Canada, and was living there when they changed the laws on firearms. He and his wife had moved here to Texas, received US citizenship, and were at the range to practice for their CHL. He said he moved to Texas strickly because of the CHL and the general attitude towards firearms. He said it was getting hard for a Canadian to even be able to hunt up there.I agree with them. This is a great country. But, we have to work to keep it that away.

Amen to all. Had a friend from Japan, nuts about guns, glad to be able to bring him out to my brothers' farm and blow stuff up. God bless America!
