I love vettes, but don't have one. Some day I hope to get a early 60's split window, or a late 60's 427.

After I get it, I'll go ahead and buy my caddy too. In black, of course.

If the price trend continues as it has as of late, vintage Corvettes will be a toy only available to the wealthiest individuals.[V][V][:(]

I have a red '67 hot wheel that was always my favorite as a kid.

I have one or two 'vette x-mas ornaments.

When I was just a kid my Dad's boss (the guy who owned the plumbing company where my father worked) owned a 1963 Vette and I thought it was the most wonderful and exotic car on this planet. I remember getting to ride in it a couple of times and I felt like one of the Mercury-7 astronauts as I fastened my seatbelt and we rocketed down the 10 FWY, under the Mclure Tunnel and then onto Pacific Coast Hwy on up to Malibu at a speed faster than I could have imagined possible. Over the years I've known and riden around with lots of guys who owned Corvettes and many other fast cars but there will always be something special about being an eight year old boy and riding in that '63 red-rocket!

The '63 spit window coupe is my all time favorite Vette.
BTW, it was the only year made w/split window. I've read that due to poor rear visibility, it was dropped.

I have a 1979. Spectra red with oyster interior. Sweet machine. Its a strong runner and very reliable. Bought it used in 1987 and currently have 235,000 miles on it. I doubt you will find a Porsche or Jag or Bmw that can run that fast with that many miles with no hiccups. The Turbo 350 tranny has never had anything done to it except change filter and oil. everything except new leather seat recover job and stereo is original.[^]

I restored a 1967 corvette roadster back in the 1970's. It had the outside factory sidepipes, white top, white interior, 23 coats of hand rubbed black Lacquer on the outside. 327 with 350 horse engine, 411 rear end, four speed. Sweet ride. Doubled my money within a short time. Now it would be worth 50-75K

Had a new 1977 T-top and a 1979 coup. nice cars but the 1967 was the best.

I sold classic cars for a while and have driven a few 'vettes. The '68 427 was the fastest car I ever drove that was not modified to the gills. I didn't like the '58. A '57 T-bird seemed to perform better IMO.

You are correct sir. Maybe a 283 or a 327. As a sidenote; corvettes are for sissies- give me an AC Cobra anyday.[:)]

Numbers don't match ... its a crate engine.

I also have a 60's Johnny Speed remote (wired) Corvette and a 90's Barbie Pink Corvette both are 1/16 scale I think ...

buying a 1983 poor man's vet (Camaro) this weekend to restore. Only $600 without a motor, and the guy has a bunch of stuff into it, bout $3000 or so but wants to move it quick. I got a motor, so it works out great.

have always liked vetts though, but never could afford one.

The vettes from the 80s can still be had at decent prices. I really don't like them or want one and don't collect any of the stuff.

Aren't vettes really just a BallPark Frank extender?
