Above your message (and mine), next to the "profile" tab, is one that looks like a piece of paper with a envelope. Click on that.

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

But does that still work if you have your e-mail address hidden (chose "Private" in Preferences)? I guess I have never tried to e anybody whose addy doesn't appear in their profile, like Charlie's.

No one can get your email address from this site unless you publicy post it in a message. We hate SPAM and respect your privacy so your email address is not available to anyone.

The only people who have my e-mail address is the beast family, Pelican and those I have done business with such as nunn Etc. Can some one tell me how 280freak just sent me an e-mail? 280 you can E-mail the answer if you like.

    Rosie -

Please see my post to you in my thread addressed to you. My apologies for any consternation this may have caused you.

The envelope icon allows someone to send you an e-mail without revealing your e-mail address to the sender. Very Handy!

    He Dog -

If you reply to that e-mail directly, though, the sender will see your addy. If you don't want the sender to have your addy and you wish to respond, do so using GB's envelope icon, don't just click on "Reply".

Trust me, I found out the hard way. Just a word to the wise.

Rosie, .280 - that's S.O.P. on most discussion boards. One may send private eml directly w/o access to the address, but often (not always) a reply originating off the site will provide the eml address to the recipient. Some sites do not enable a "reply to" option for private contact, largely for this security / privacy issue. Sorry you folks had to learn the hard way. If it becomes a problem, contact your ISP and have them change the address; most are very accomodating that way.

Ya learn something new every day. Until yesterday, I wasn't aware of all this. Didn't realize that it was SOP. Thanks for the info.

The only ones who got my addy accidently were Rosie and Tailgunner. Not too worried about those guys, just going to be more careful in the future; there are one or two here, going to remain unnamed, who I wouldn't want to have my addy.

I put my e-mail address in my signature line. It does not bother me to receive e-mails from any of you. If it gets ugly, I can always block it.
