74-79 f250 2wd camper special (probably closer to 77-79, because of the mirrors) Ranger and xlt's were available with square headlites, or round. this one has a mat instead of carpet, as it has 'dog dish' or 'poverty' hub caps. and it's blue. it was reddish orange. and it needs at the very least, a front main seal in it's 351m/400 engine.

    It's a 1978. 77s had a different grill, 79s had square headlights.
It's the very basic model, no custom cab or side moldings. Good solid trucks, fairly easy to work on and horrible on fuel consumption.

I have a 1979 custom cab, camper special with a 460ci, 4:10 gears and automatic. That thing will pull a house, climb a tree, spin the tires and gets 10MPG empty and 7MPG pulling.[:0]`

And now after all that, I too see the little stinky guy.[xx(][:D]

I have my doubts about it being a 4X4 but it is a 1979, my neighbor just sold one identical to it right down to the color.
It even had the same ford needed front tow hooks under the front bumper.

    1978

78 1/2 was the change for square headlights so it could be an early 78 or a 77 with that grill. It is not a 79 unless someone has changed out the headlight buckets.

I am saying F250 2 wheel drive. I can't see if there are leaf springs which would label it as an F250, the size of the tires looks to be 16 so I am guessing F250. Definately 2 wheel drive by the bottom of the front axle.

1978 F-250 2 wheel drive. The round headlights say it's a '78. I belive on the 1978 model you could get either square or round headlights. 1979 was square only, and the '77 and older had a split grille. It's a 2 wheel drive because it has hub caps on the front. Hub caps won't fit over front locking hubs.
    They were(still are) great trucks.

78/9 could have EITHER, depending on boxes checked. Rad support will accept the round or square bucket. 76's had different grille. that one there is 78/9. it is a camper spl/work truck trim pkg, (as denoted by the 'custom' right under the f-250) Pabooger had a ford f 150 ranger (was fullsize back then) with an 'Explorer' package and it had SQUARE headlights as part of the options. (along with carpet, finished in plastic cab, headliner, and gawddawful stripes.

Trust me, ruger knows i am the ford truck gawd. I actually like the 79 1/2 (actually they were 80's but beat chevy as 'first new truck of the 80's by introducing in March)-95's, actually at least to 93, as that's as far as i've gotten.

    i've had:
    56 f100*
    65 econoline
    76 f150 6cyl (first truck I ever had)
    78 bronco....pig
    78 extended wheel c/s, 460 prop inj,
    76 f150 step side 4x4 460
    71 f250 with a 360
    76 f-250 ext cab 400...junk
    77 f 250 6 cly plow truck*
    80 f100 6*
    84 f 150 4x4 6, set 2nd best overal time at a mr mud show with a 6!*
85 xlt bronco, 351 ho, best beater ever named it trigger
89 ford conv van, 351 ho posi, best race hauler ever.
    92 f 250 plow truck*
    91 ford f150 4x4 stepside
    93 f150 4x4 xlt*

could be said that ...i like my cheap, bulletproof fords.....

    * denotes still have....

where did you get the picture?, is this the actual truck you want to purchase?

as far as the exact year, as i stated i had a 77 f150 identical, everyone can speculate on exact series and year, but remember most all of the grills, lights and mirrors can be changed, and i have seen this allot, whether it was from a wreck or to make it look a few years newer

and as far as that actual truck i would not be very interested myself, besides the cracked grill it has an extension cord wrapped around it{usually for a charger}, and looks like it has some serious leakage, the paint is coming off in several places, looks like a quick spray job with no primer due to the orange showing, and it looks as it it may have some frame damage, look at the door, then the placement of the bed, i would suspect it took a impact enough to throw the bed a good three inches out of alignment, and 4X4's did not have front hubcaps

In many parts of the country a cord in the grill is a good thing.

It implies there is already a block heater installed and you don't have to spend money to have one put in if you don't have a garage to park in.

Life in below zero weather can be made much easier with block heaters. Many of the employers around here even have outlets in parking lots for employees to plug their vehicles in.
