Took my 4 1/2 year old son out to the range (backyard) with a brick of .22's and the old Ruger 10-22. I'm afraid I have warped him for life. He thought shooting was fun on the 007 tv game, so we went out for some real shooting, now he's hooked. We shot everything, pop cans, light bulbs, old 78 rpm records (quite fun), milk jugs, even a old Lionel train set. What a blast! Of corse his aim left a little to be desired, but we have his whole life to work on that. Sometimes it's just about the fun and not the markmanship! What a great day!

Sounds like a great time, and I know you won't be sorry to have a son that shoots and hunts with you. I hope you also taught him about cleaning up the broken glass, cans and trains!

That's the good thing about a 10/22, if your aim leaves something to be desired...just put out a pattern.

What, shot up old Lionel trains and 78 RPM records? Are you sure you knew what you were doing? I shot up some old 45 records with a pellet gun when I was a kid and I could kick myself. Elvis, Rolling Stones, Beatles, ... gotta stop, I'm getting sick.

It was all junk. The train was not a old one as far as age, but was in real poor shape, i.e. played with to death. And the records came from a friend who collects records, so... no great loss either way. It was fun to see the stuff take the hits though! Just got a old Dodge pick-up today,,, can't wait to open up on it with the H&K 91!
