Any ideas for a Lighter filling for large sandbag

Hey guys I bought one of those large shooters sandbags with the notch in the top to rest your gun in. The only problem is when I filled itt with sand Im going to need a 1949 Dodge Power Wagon to carry it!!! It must weigh 45 Pounds!!!
Any ideas of a substitute filler that I might use that is not quite as heavy but will still hold the gun in there tight.

....try some plastic shot buffer, fills the bags up nice and hardly weighs anything. You can also get filler similar to what's used in beanie babies at a local arts & crafts shop.....

You can also use Kitty Litter or dried Rice. Hope this helps!!

Use "used" cat litter it will give you the impresion of being in real combat (rooting Corpse stench)

I used seed corn. Packs fairly evenly and still gives some weight but not so much as to be unbearably heavy. GHD

Hey that's a good idea I work in a cutlery and we use that corn-cob polishing media all the time. I think it will work real well Ill have to give it a try!!!! Thanks

pabooger--If you want to try some of that filler that's in the beanie babies let me know where to send it, and how much you need. I work as an injection molder and am around plastic pellets all the time.

You can also go to the nearest garden store and get some vermiculite. Which is just crushed volcanic stone. Works pretty good in my homemade bags

I use corn media not as much dust as walnut.

I have used the crushed styrofoam from an old bean bag chair.
The only problem is it squeaks from the weight of your rifle.
Made a bag for hunting. I was in a high tree stand with a bar
rest across the front. Several does were out about 25-30 yards
and while scoping them as I moved the rifle the styro. would squeak.
They kept looking, but couldn't figure out what/where the noise was.
That was the last time I tried that bag while hunting.

Don't send flowers when I die. Send money now, I can buy more ammo.
