As most of you know my son fell off a tractor and ruptured his spleen. After seven days in the hospital and three weeks at home, he is doing fine. So I'm looking over his bill and his 10mg shot of a drug called Factor 7 cost $33,500.00! That's right, $3500.00 per mg. We ALL must be in the wrong business. HOLY *!

guns, glad your boy is doing well now, regardless of the bill. If you should learn the reason for this particular treatment, as a matter of intellectual curiosity I would be interested in knowing why it was administered.

They gave him this to get his spleen to stop bleeding. It did stop the bleeding and surgery was avoidid. But when they gave it to him, they said they didn't know if it would work! That's a hell of a gamble ain't it? I guess since the could not make the money on the surgery, they make it on the meds instead?
