Im also looking into also getting a HK UPS .40, but the 4.25 barrel makes me think that the accuracy wont be as good at further rangers as a beretta or glock would be. Do any of yall know of replacment barrels that would make the barrel length at least 4.5 or 4.7 inches?

Im asking this because just as I went to look at a Beretta to buy I saw a HK USP .40. The HK USP costs about $100 more than the slightly used Beretta. I cant decide, should I go for the more expensive and rarer HK? or for the good ol Beretta. The one thing that has me in a deadlock is the barrel length. The beretta has about 3/4 of an inch longer barrel, and I will mostly be doing shooting at about 50 yards, so the Beretta sounds like it would be better, but its just so hard to say no to an HK. So better accuracy at 50 yards, which gun? And please no "its all up to the shooter". If you were to keep the guns perfectly still and shoot in the exact same postion which one would have the tighter groups from your experience.

Definately take the HK if price is no issue. Its a much more accurate weapon unless you get the target model beretta and they are a bit more $$$$.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

Guns and Ammo Oct. 97 has a good article that tests The USP against some other double actions. Glock was the only one that was more accurate.

The HK USP .40 can single action to right? Or were these tests done just in double action?

All tests were fired double action.

One more question. This is just for your personal opion. Say that the HK was on single action and the Glock was on "double action" would Glock still be the better pistol in accuracy? And which would you say is better for ranges at 50 yards. Beretta, Hk, or Glock? All in .40
