Tempting, but I've pissed the wife off enough this month.

Why not just have one in 45-70?

But I still wish it were a winchester.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

"and the hardwood stock sports a fitted rubber recoil pad to make shooting this heavy-duty round a pleasure"
    Now if you believe that....
I really was hopeing Marlin would make one with the compensator
built in like the 45/70. The other one that would work well would be the bolt action that Ruger makes in .44 mag. Unfortunately both
companies said no such items are in the works.

In response to the 45/70 suggestion. I wouldnt mind having one in 45/70, but I was crossing my fingers that I could get a lever action in 454 as a companion to my revolver, just for the sake of it, what with the ammo being the same, they'd be a nice pair, and the velocity gained with the rifle barrel should be nothing to take lightly either. If accurate, a 454 in a rifle would be powerful medicine for anything, and the added magazine capacity over the 45/70 would be pretty sweet also. Oh well, I'll have to wait and see if anyone buys these, and how they hold up, seems thats the general concensus on this model, dont be the first to buy one, it may not take the cartridge, thats what I've been advised.
