New use for convicted felons....

Sitting here bored, having to much time to think about pointless stuff. I've come up with another idea to fix our growing problem of overcrowded prisons and to reduce crime. And also a way to once and for all prove that the .45acp is bigger than the 9mm......

We should take all the convicted felons, and use them as live test subjects for terminal ballistics. We could shoot them with various weapons in various places. We have thousands of them, plenty for shooting hundreds for the same caliber in the same place. Then we could get that doctor marshall and evans to do all the research.

What do you think, is that a great idea or what...

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

The sound of a 12 gauge pump clears a house fatser than Rosie O eats a Big Mac !

Lee- Not a very PC thing to say but I'll second the motion. I've always wondered where or how to volunteer my services for firing squads so I could test some reloads. WHat a sound ideer !

I've always been partial to an idea I came up with a long time ago. Put all the prisoners on death row in a large inescapable woods area, with fence and the whole 9 yards, mines, dogs everything. This would only be done when they are ready for execution. Now, we sell permits to shoot these prisoners, available to any of the general public, but with priority going to the families of the victims that these criminals have probably harmed. Now then, these are only going to be guided hunts, high security for the shooter, many PHs/Law enforcement members for guides. We could put a very small number of convicts in the woods at a time, so as to ensure security of the hunters. One of the PH's would also have a tracking device to alert them if the convicts bunch up to threaten an attack or try to sneak up on them, but they would not use the device for hunting the convicts, only security of the hunting party. This should stir things up...might even bring my sanity into question. Hmm.. wonder what part of the body you get to keep for a trophy?

Hmm... what about caliber restriction? The .223 wouldnt kill them humanely, so I hear, but ya gotta have a certain amount of pain involved, so we cant use the 7.62x39, cause its such a deadly round, right??

Funny how history has a way of repeating itself in some instances.

You are right Rob. The quote is: "those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it."

I'm glad I'm not the only twisted one who has thought about that idea.

Rob, that sounds like the running man sort of.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

Do you know how popular gladiators would be in todays "real tv" mind set. People would protest and complain and the tune in every night. Hmmm what was that number for NBC..

....geeez, some of these suggestions are almost shades of Joseph Mengela....If one must house, feed, and shelter these scoundrels, then hard labor in return for their upkeep would be in order. They would not only have to provide food for themselves, but extra that could be sold to reimburse their victims. The old prison farm system where they grew vegetables, did farm work, took care of livestock had some merit. No work...no eat...you expire.....(oh yeah, no TV, computers, or gymnasiums)

well, for the deathrow inmates, i say have a fight to the death...the winner gets a meal and gets to live for another day...either that, or I like the hunting Idea too.

as far as the rest of the people in Jail...I think they should earn their keep. if they don't work, they dont eat. make them build stuff everyone needs, work in factories, work on a farm...do something to make their existance justifiable. I bet if they had to bust their rumps in jail for five years for a crime they did...they sure as hell would think twice about doing it again.

You are to Late. The Japanese already did ballistic tests on prisoners in the 1940's.

    RugerNiner,
leeblackman still has a good idea, we have many rounds that have been developed since then, and we need to test them also.
